  1. The man WROTE policy's (sold insurance), he didn't do the payoffs. I've had enough experience dealing with insurance payouts, that I'm confident in what I'm telling ya. Armchair my @$$ ! I deal with insurance companies on a monthly (sometimes weekly) basis. I know exactly how they roll.
  2. I can't buy into the claimed mortality of immediately released bass. Those numbers are from fish that were captured, held awhile, had tracking equipment attached to them....and THEN (finally) released. I am reasonably sure that a bass caught and immediately released is going to survive just fine. Look at how many Trout are C&Red at the trout parks on a daily basis.....You don't see dead fish everywhere at trout parks because of that, and if what they claim is true then you definitely would see dead fish everywhere. And bass are way more hearty and resilient than trout are, so....
  3. If you do something ILLEGAL that causes you to die, it can very well cancel your life insurance. Doing something stupid is one thing, but doing something both stupid and illegal.... is a whole 'nother thing. I had an old friend that crashed and killed himself at 3:am while drunk as hell. Guess what amount the beneficiaries of his life insurance received after that? Zip! The full coverage on his sweetass new car didn't pay off either. The people of our town had to pitch in together to pay for his funeral, and the kids lost the house.
  4. If those guys are so confident that where YOU are is where they NEED to fish......Then since it's all about MONEY.... maybe they need to carry a few Benjamin's in their pocket to persuade others to move elsewhere. It isn't like paying locals to hold a spot for them has never been done, so what's the difference?
  5. It really does ! It has gotten completely out of control.
  6. Yeah, to hop in one with dirty clothes, dirty hands, or muddy shoes would be like taking a poop in the front room of the governor's mansion.
  7. I asked an ex water patrolman how they intended to enforce that. He said they likely wouldn't be "checking everyone" but they could use that excuse to pull over anyone they felt like "checking out" or sniffing their breath. They gotta have a legitimate legal reason to pull over and detain folks. Now they have one. The main reason for the new law, however, is so that if a runaway boat does damage or kills someone then the owner/operator can be effectively charged with a crime that can't be easily lawyered away. And if your boat runs over YOU then your life insurance company is off the hook. Gotta protect those insurance companies!
  8. Oh it can be argued alright !!! @Al Agnew will do it. 😁
  9. Yeah, I can't make sense of any of that. I could easily redesign a 65k boat/motor/trailer, making it far less expensive, MORE reliable, easier to maintain, longer lasting, and just as pretty, with absolutely no loss of performance. The same could be done with trucks. Why there is no market for that, is simply because....none are offered.
  10. That probably encourages more people to cross the line, that ordinarily wouldn't. 🥴
  11. Heard there was a twister near Bolivar. Does anyone have a report on that?
  12. Guys with "tremendous appetites" don't require To-Go boxes. 😊
  13. We had a high dollar one before the tornado. Total POS. Everytime we went to use it something was wrong. Fix it, use it, put it away..... And when you got it out a few weeks later, it wouldn't work. I let the insurance pay me off for it after the twister....and never bought another one. If you use it everyday it might work awhile, but they hate being in storage.
  14. So, is it a Bloods vs. Crips kinda thing? If so I'd just let it play out. Their occasional war-crys will keep the mice away.
  15. Tweezers! Rip that $#!t out of there ! Don't be a puss.
  16. Don't trim your nose hair. Grab it with tweezers and rip it out by the roots. Nobody wants whiskers in their nose. You'll have to refresh my memory in regards to "that cat". What cat? Whose cat is it? If it's a neighborhood cat that is leaving footprints on my vehicles, or getting into my boat(s).....I alert the owner of the feline that the cat only has 8 or less lives left now. I allow all kitty's their full 9 infractions because I am guilty of throwing out fish guts occasionally, and boats often smell like fish too.......So, I wanna be 100% fair about it. There's currently one that's getting real close to having a pellet installed in its head here
  17. It popped up on the home page. 🤷‍♂️
  18. An ohmmeter tests continuity, you're not looking for voltage, you are trying to determine WHERE the short to ground is. If I were doing it, I would disconnect the purple wire from the key switch and clip the red lead of the ohmmeter to that purple wire....then connect the black ohmmeter lead to the main ground at the engine block (or the negative terminal of the battery). What you want (need) to see is "0" indicating NO CONTINUITY. But it's likely that you are going to see a degree of continuity. Start disconnecting harness plugs, from the engine moving forward towards the key switch, one at a time, until you see "0".....and then you'll know where the short to ground is located at. Narrowing your search area. You can then move the red ohmmeter lead to THAT SPOT....and locate it even closer.....if you need to. If you make it all the way from motor to key switch without getting a "0" then you'll know that the short is not at the engine.....and that leaves the guage panel.....so go there.
  19. 4 years later......still, Crickets 🙄 In that amount of time the Whites at Pomme appear to have made a comeback, which is a good thing, and was as expected. But if the gene pool had been contaminated with hybrids there IS a chance that it wouldn't have. Why take that chance? Are we not experiencing problems with bees that have been hybridized by biologist's? Did they not cause irreversible damage? Pretty sure they did, and there's really no fixing that.
  20. Did you ever hook an ohmmeter up to the purple wire?
  21. This has been a different kind of Spring, weatherwise. I'd swear it was early April, if it weren't for the fact that the Dogwood blooms have long come and gone. Lake water temp still hasn't gotten up to 70° quite yet.....but the bass and crappie have all but spawned out. Just odd.
  22. Wow! Flashback! 😂 Apparently it WAS just an adjustment phase, cuz I'm fine now. I had totally forgotten about the eye thing....That was weird and kinda scary for awhile. But whatever it was went away on its own. I don't even need glasses, still.
  23. Pretty sure this is correct. The strip pits we grew up hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, and dirt bike riding around were owned by a refractories operation, and were always posted.....to avoid liability.....but everyone played there. Lots of folks got injured, quite a few got killed or drowned, but the areas remained a local playground for many many years. Some still are. That did create a problem however. Because eventually a few of the properties were sold to individuals, and those individuals had a hell of a time keeping people off THEIR land. The local law would not prosecute anyone for trespassing because the areas were well known playgrounds for over 40 years.
