I think its weird people are making a bigger deal about high school kids cheating than an MLF guy cheating it getting blown under the rug. He even admitted to it. These high school kids look up to the pros and this one admits to cheating but they just slapped him on the wrist with a forfeit of the tournament.. What a joke of an organization. Kick his butt out!!!!!!!!! He also has been accused of snagging bass and unhooking them before the guy in the monkey suit (REFEREE) can see it. https://www.bassfan.com/docktalk_article/22496/sprague-forfeits-top-5-finish-from-22-opener -

I think they should be banned for good and get there butts kicked. Same with Jeff Sprague on MLF. He knew the rules and broke them intentionally -

I found you really have to commit the whole day to the deep docks, most of them wont produce any but you will eventually run into the right ones. And be prepared to loose a lot of baits, we lost easily 10 yesterday. Thats what we did all day yesterday, never even attempted anything else -
my livescope transducer overheated on me yesterday lol

We had a good limit today at 10 am around Kimberling and weigh in was at Aunts. We headed in early because the boat traffic was getting so bad and i didnt want to beat up the fish in the well. My boat is only 19ft and is definitely not adequate to be around that area on a weekend. I think fish taking a beating in the livewell on days like this is just as much a factor as the heat when it comes to fish care

Finally got out to do a tournament, only the second one this year for me. 10 or so boats. We ended up getting the win with 16.78, and big bass 5.10. Caught everything in about 25ft on spoons. IT was very hit or miss, some spots were loaded and others just seemed dead, kinda like all the reports ive been reading. All fish alive and healthy. Water temp 89 most the day. Pic of my buddy holding our bigger fish.

Ive always like the 3 hooks better than the 2 on a spook for a walking bait.

Ive never been able to catch fish in open water on the plopper. Black Sexy Dawg one knocker is my go to. Looks like a fun day, I also hardly ever catch a keeper when they come up chasing like that, always seems to be little spots for the most part

Shut it down....Then go fish and post a report...do you fish?

Nobody even wakeboards anymore, all they do is surf. When i was 25 i was down everyday wakeboarding. Got hurt way to many times. We would put 1000lbs in the ballast and the "wedge" down and back then it was a big wave but nothing compared to what they are making now. We even had a buddy that worked for one of those dealerships that sold the big Sea Rays. One evening we built a bridal for the back with a ski rope and took out the 48fter to surf behind. Talk about a wave lol

I remember when i was little my dad had cages with coppeheads in them and would handle them daily and milk there venom on an arrow. Not sure how he never got bit. I think it was like a party trick for him or somthing lol. Was over 30 years ago

I dont think catch weigh release is an option for a solo series. No way to keep it honest. Someone comes in with a mega bag and people will get into arguments. Even if you have to take a pic, who says there isnt a couple 1 ounce weights in its mouth you dont see. Or weigh the fish with a a pic turn it to the other side weight it again with a few sinkers in its mouth. The inches thing would work but most people that have bass boats would have bought kayaks if they wanted to tournament fish that way. 3 fish limit in the hot months and no dead fish can be weighed, it takes care of fish care issues for the most part. Also most guys i know that tournament fish are not really into the MLF style events, makes me wonder about participation. I know lots of people like it and i like watching it too, just not sure if its feasible without a judge dressed up like a football Ref riding around with ya. Jerry, i would have fished your tournaments this year but ive literally been on the road working during every single one. Just bad timing! -
I played around a little more with my Cara Deep Cranker today, Im not a huge deep cranker either but i thought it was great, I have a old Lews BB1 with 12lb on it and i was throwing the Berkeley Dredger 20.5 and it would fling that thing a mile, I even caught a couple little guys on it, you could barely tell they were even hooked, those baits dig and pull so hard, Definitely an art to learning to feel the bite with a big crank like that

We put in at 7 and took out at 11. What a great day to take someone who doesnt fish much, we had close to 30 with 0 keepers. WE stayed busy though, caught them on every lure I threw. Walking bait this morning, neds, shakey, deep diver, drop shot, and i caught a whole bunch on a megabass jerkbait, who says a jerkbait only works in the winter???? The jerker came in handy under the bridge, they were piled up in between the pillars about 5 ft deep. Livescope was a big help. Hardly any boat traffic at all, Only 2 trucks in the Bridgeport neighborhood ramp. Last summer if you werent there at daylight you may not have a parking spot. Thanks again for the report Dutch, our most productive things were neds and shakey heads. We went all the way up to Mccords Bend. Water is pretty nasty up the river, a brownish tan with all kinds of nasty bubbles on the surface, but that is where we had the best bite. If anyone has some kids that want to catch them like crazy i bet you could put a night crawler on a drop shot under the bridge and catch those little spots all day.
