  1. Who mounts a 2.5 lb smallmouth that they had to grow in a tank anyway? Only in the big city.🤓
  2. how big of a tank and was there anything else alive in it?
  3. Native fish are stone cold killers and do not do well in an aquarium setting. A big tank like Bass Pro size is needed.

    What's Cooking?

I got in big trouble for no pictures. Trying to do better. My breakfast that I'm eating as I type.
  5. The warmest boots I have are a pair of those old Sorel pac boots with the inner felt booties. Feet just never get cold in them. Walking is not good but they sure are warm.
  6. I believe they are talking about actual depth not distance traveled.
  7. No joke. I suspect much of it is boredom induced with a hydrocodone kicker.
  8. When's the last time you had a hydrocodone?
  9. She'd never make it as an owl. We had one take a rabbit out in the yard a few weeks ago and even I felt sorry for that poor rabbit. Seemed like it took forever for dinner to expire.
  10. I have the Bass Pro Guidewear bibs and parka. Money very well spent. Totally wind proof, never been wet in it and my bibs do have a front zipper. I just washed it for the first time ever. Totally catfish slimed it on that last trip to Truman. Had it loose in the back of the truck on the way home and when I got in the topper to unpack it reeked. Seems to have washed and dried just fine. Did it according to the recommendations on the goretex website. Fully recommended.

It's gone and everybody already knows what chili looks like.🙃
  13. I'd be right there.🎯

    What's Cooking?

I've been on a health food kick lately. This morning I made scrambled egg, jalapeno and cheese quesadilla and topped it with leftover chili and diced onions finished with a nice squirt of Red Gold ketchup. Oh yeah baby, health food!
  15. I happily field dressed one for my neighbor yesterday evening. He's had both shoulders replaced and took an ambulance ride last week for a broken rib. He's a great neighbor and I love him and his wife dearly. So no hundred dollars. But the rumor is a six pack of Heineken may magically appear near my back door later today.
  16. That is a dandy!
  17. I'd like to see hoglaw again some day.
  18. Double secret probation stuff. Probably.
  19. I'd try boiled linseed oil. If you want it to penetrate a little more and be lighter, add 25% mineral spirits. That stuff makes old treated wood look like new. Edit: I've got a few walnut handled kitchen knives that I totally ignore everybody's advice and run them through the dishwasher with everything else. It does dry out the wood. Once a year or so I just put them handle deep in a quart jar of boiled linseed oil overnight and they get a new lease on life. If it works for them it will probably help with the whole cork situation. Linseed oil is also used on very high grade walnut gunstocks. Old school but it really is good stuff.
  20. Why don't you just buy some new cork rings and replace the old stuff? One google search turned up a shipload of sources. Or is that skill above your paygrade?😵
  21. Nice one!
  22. Yes the baiting part.
  23. You should mulch those leaves instead of burning them and contributing to global warming and driving your neighbors fruit.🥵
  24. You burned the woods down?
  25. Another vote for Riley's Station. I always do better on the White than Taneycomo. There is just a lot - whole lot - more water for everyone to spread out on. And the scenery is not resort after resort after resort. The Buffalo and let's not forget Crooked Creek are huge pluses for warm water stream fishing. Besides paddlecraft, Riley's also rents the classic White River Trout Boats, which I also recommend for fishing the White.
