  1. I remember the PF. At the time, for the same 19.95 you could get an ABU on an Ugly Stick with enough change left for a Schlitz tall boy. Always felt like the infomercial guys were the ones that flunked out of used car salesman school. RIP Ron.
  2. Mid-day, summertime may not be the best time to catch Beaver stripers, but it's sure the easiest time to find them. Just stay within sight of the Dam Site campground and scan the 40-60' depth range in or near the channel. It's a hot, miserable row to hoe, but it can be done.
  3. VPN use grew a lot the last year with people working from home. They used to be awkward, complicated messes, but now they have simple UIs that anyone can set up. I can set mine to use any number of IP servers around the world. Like JD mentioned, if you have location enabled, you might get some interesting ads...
  4. For clarity, I've caught and fished with bugs and bait for 50+ years, so when Ham said he caught the shad on a fly, I (briefly) thought 'house fly'. Actually laughed out loud at the mere thought of it. I just had to ask, "Do you net those or trap them?", referring to house flies, for bait. Looking back, I can see how it could read otherwise. Glad I didn't choose comedian as an occupation.
  5. Just checkin'... 😉
  6. Do you net those or trap them?
  7. Back around '73, Dad bought a Snapper knock-off (Ahrends?) that used that rubber drive disk. I soon learned that if I mowed straight up the short hill out by the road ditch, clutched it and rolled back down, then dumped the clutch it would pull a decent wheelie. Had to quit that after Dad replaced the drive disk twice...
  8. "Bout time! 🙂 What for bait?
  9. No shortage in my 'hood. Wouldn't mind them if they'd leave my red wiggler crop alone.
  10. Nah, they look like this; Won't fish vertical worth a flip, but troll like nobody's business.
  11. Didn't know about the spiders, but they sure got the message across to my brother. 😉
  12. Dobber nests.
  13. If you're content with what you're doing, don't mess with it. If I was unable to catch shad, I'd fish frozen shad guts way before any prepared bait, then crawlers as a close second.
  14. Army Surplus ejection seat. Put it on a swivel pedestal for ease in aiming toward the truck.. And a new 'chute.
  15. Love the tailraces. Never know what you'll catch. That one looks like really good access.
  16. Nah, those flatheads just need a snack while waiting to be processed.
  17. ...and they aren't worth a dime if you let them freeze up.
  18. I'd have to call that a win... you found your teeth. 😁
  19. I heard my dad's rip while we were putting up hay. Sounded like your blue jeans ripping. I can still hear it...
  20. Don't know if you can still get them, but an Ozark Mountain Woodchopper was my favorite striper TW for a long time. If you get a swing & miss, a sped up "get the heck outta here" response works well.
  21. Oh, they do, they're just fewer and further between. Back 30-35 years ago you'd rarely catch one under 10-12lb. Lots of smaller ones now imply lots of bigger ones in the future.
  22. Yeah, I didn't mean a real spoonplug of course, but I knew you'd understand. 🙂
  23. Tie on a Spoonplug and power troll. Sooner or later you'll find some locational patterns, then you can work 'em over. Best way to whip new water.
  24. The wild ones behind my house were blooming like crazy the last week. If I continue to let the woods reclaim my yard, I'll be able to pick from my driveway in a couple years.
  25. Oh, they're there alright, those 3 liquor stores at the line don't make their living off of Bentonville & Jane. Most of them are functional drunks, so driving is no big whoop. You won't see them getting pulled over either.
