  1. Dan I hope that you had a nice bday on top of that trip.
  2. I have never paid for processing. I spend that money elsewhere like for more fishing tackle.
  3. Assuming that the heart will make an appearance on the What's cooking thread😉
  4. Was that the cougar that was outside in her underwear😉?
  5. It will only be a short stay😅!
  6. Did a quick trip this evening looking for possible inland silversides on a tip from another lifelister. I went and fished the Unicorn branch coming out of Unicorm lake. Only caught mosquitofish and redbreast sunfish. I did find a couple of lion's mane mushrooms in a large dead log 😁 I harvested the small one since it was not already starting to yellow. They can be bitter when they yellow. Also allows the fungus to spread its spores. I'll have to remember this spot for next year.
  7. Yes HE does😉! All in good fun. I caught a dozen of these redbreast perch🤣
  8. These two would fit into that crowd 😉
  9. Follow me for other great costume ideas with a backstory🤣

    What's Cooking?

Tonight was a dish that I make often, venison stroganoff. I had Livie help me quite bit from cutting the mushrooms, to preparing the beef and wine broth, etc. Dinner turned out really good and I hope that she will add this dish to her own list of go to recipes.

    What's Cooking?

I like to make butternut squash soup. I cut the squash in half then spread coconut oil on the cut surface. I put the halves cut side down on a baking tray and bake the squash at 375 until soft. I puree with vegetable or chicken stock. S&P to taste. Once in a bowl stir in about a tablespoon of sour cream and top with several drops of hot sauce (Frank's is the best) and roasted green pumpkin seeds.
  12. Many cold and rainy springs have done a number on turkey reproduction as well.
  13. It's an unofficial OAF gathering down in Arkansas primarily to get together with other OAF members, fish the White River using jigs (but anything would be fine), and eat a lot of really good food 😁.
  14. Just thinking that they are easier to document individuals due to patterning. I have no issues with repeated catches and do agree that most fish get harder to catch a second time. The only fish that I can say for certain that does not necessarily get "smarter" after being caught are green sunfish.
  15. Dave have you confirmed those totals don't include repeats? Regardless those are big numbers of fish. The two highest numbers for a single species for me this year is 76 Redbreast sunfish and 99 Black Sea Bass. Looks like I need to go catch some more😉
  16. That 2016 Jigfest was the first one that I went to and then made the next three which included the Taneycomo Jigfest.
  17. Been trying to figure on how to get there and it looks like it won't happen again this year 😒. I do have to get back to one to see if I even remember how to fish White river trout with jigs. I know that I could still hook up with some rock bass 🤣 I also miss cooking the fryer with @grizwilson. They moved the Asian market in Columbia that I used to get the oyster mushrooms. Not even sure that I would have been able to get a few pounds.
  18. It is still a fun and frustrating creek to fish. The fish are fiesty when hooked and have great coloration.
  19. That is true. Hickory creek is a white ribbon trout stream. It should get stocked periodically from March to Nov. It is a city creek. Don't expect pristine conditions of a mountain trout stream.
  20. I wish that I had it this easy when I went to school🤣

    What's Cooking?

Homemade Lamb and beef mix gyro. Served with fresh red onion, tomato, and tzaziki sauce on a pita.
  23. This is true. I have fished with him😅
  24. Fish where you are and don't worry about what others think! I'll fish a ditch if there are fish in it... ok so I have fished a ditch 😅. Maybe quite a few actually 🙄.
