@Ham congrats on a great day on the water! A great way to honor the man that had it before you. You know that I have a rod or two that also has a life of memories. Still making memories. I hope that some of my rods may get similar treatment in the future.

Livie and I made our Mother's day staple, eggs Benedict, for my wife. Livie did the egg poaching this year while I made the applewood smoked bacon, toasted muffin, and Hollandaise sauce. Eggs came out perfectly. Very hapy wife.

I may have seen that lid Marty, but restored and at full east coast retail pricing.

I have seen and drank others Marty that were not as clear as yours looks. There is a guy in Savannah GA that brews and sells a variety of meade flavors and alcohol contents. I like it sparingly, a glass or two (or flagon for those Rennfest folks😉).

Very true. We learned why wool was preferred while living in Ireland. Will still keep you warm even while wet, which occurred regularly.

After pulling double shifts all week, two factory workers are talking. The woman says, "I can make the boss give me the day off." The man replies, "How would you do that?" "Just wait and see.", said the woman. As soon as the boss is looking in her direction, she then hangs upside down from the ceiling. Seeing her hanging there, the boss comes over and says, "What are you doing?" The woman replies, " I am a light bulb!" The boss thinking that she is going a bit crazy from working too much says, "I think that you need to take the rest of the day off." She gets down and heads for the door. The man starts to follow her out and the boss stops him and asks, "Where are you going?" The man replies, "I'm going home too. I can't be expected to work in the dark!" 🤣

We have been having good success going to Shelbyville lake spillway the last couple of years. Even saw a musky on one of those trips. So haven't ventured down to Carlyle.

The most unusual catfish bite was a channel catfish that ate a WTD topwater bait in the Loutre river. Hit that bait like a largemouth. Was the worst tasting catfish that I have ever eaten and in fact turned me off of eating channel catfish moving forward. Still eat blues and we have eaten the white catfish out here in MD.

Tell her congrats for some great bass catches! Awesome guiding dad! Hope that you are in the process of a fishing buddy for life!

I still haven't caught a flathead, but I haven't pushed to target them either. Have only caught incidental channels and blue catfish.
