Got out late morning and fished until mid afternoon. It was tough. Little wind and blue skies. I caught one barely legal spot on a z craw in 12’ in the muddy water further south. Was really wanting to crank but the rock snot down here is making it difficult. Switched to a square bill to stay off the bottom and still nothing.

Got down this afternoon for a few days. Fished a wart, rock crawler and glide bait for a little bit around chunk rock with a little wind with no bites. Switched to hard wind blown main lake points and caught a couple of good ones on a jerkbait. The cold wind was brutal. WT was 48 on the points and clear with nice color around state park. Down right dirty coming across the 86 bridge from 65.

I saw enough on-line to invest in some entry level glide baits last year. Fished them on two outings at TR and was amazed at the amount fish and the size of some that followed to the boat. They have a drawing power that’s hard to believe until you see it in person. From what I’ve seen that’s just part of the deal. You may have to watch a lot of them not commit, but the ones you do catch, make up for it.

If you had that much success without the drop shot rods leave them at home! Nice job!

I was way back in a creek fishing the lower end last week and ran into a mess of wood ducks. I set the rod down watched and listened to them as I got close. Majority were on the bank and in the timber. I counted 80-90 as they finally got up in waves crashing out if the timber. Most headed right back in as I fished my way out of the cove. Super cool!

We’re a week off. I was there last weekend and would have gladly connected to fish together. I’m sure you’ll get plenty of other offers.

Fished yesterday and early this morning. Caught a total of 3 fish. 2 keepers and one short. All small mouths. Rage Craw, Ned rig and a rock crawler. I started on the main lake and found fish but good luck getting them to bite anything. I can usually catch some deep with a spoon, drop shot or little george but all they did was look. I moved shallow with a big swim bait and had one really good LM follow it out of the shade of a beached dock but no luck. Threw a buzzbait shallow all the way in the back of a cove and watched another really good LM casually come up and grab the legs of the toad. I watched the whole thing and waited for her to take it in before setting the hook but she just swam away until she let go. I normally use trailer hook but didn’t this time. I’d guess both fish we’re 4lbs each. It was good to get out but man is it tough. And, I caught another fish passing a hook. 3rd one I’ve caught in the last few years. I’ll post pics shortly.

I do something similar with the ned rig if I have to save from getting skunked. I’ll go up wind on a flat or point and cast it out. Get off the trolling motor and drift across it letting the bait tick rocks while watching the graph. You’ll see the fish laying on the bottom as you go over them and many times, about a minute later when the bait gets there, feel the rod load up and catch one. Singles are harder to catch. When you see a couple in one screen, be ready. It’s not for everyone but it can save the day when nothing else works.

I spent the first half of the year trying to sell and buy a used boat. A an average of all those you listed plus bass boat central will get you close. Although bass boat central boats I think are priced a little high on average. Lots of passionate boaters that think highly if their boats and are paying to list it. That being said, I think the value of your boat would come from the type of engine, condition of the boat itself and electronics. Good luck.

You crushed them! Did you find them with side scan and then use live scope to pick them off? I don’t have lives scope and curious how much it made a difference on a wad of fish you run across like that on side scan.

It’s a good time to be on Taney or in a tree anyway!

Went again yesterday morning. The bridge and near deep docks. Caught a few but there was a lot more bait which made it a harder to compete, so I went looking for a deep crank bite and drug a swinging jig around some other places with no luck. Also spent some time with a larger glide bait in the last of the morning shade with not even a follow. I didn’t catch a fish on anything but the spoon. One brother in law caught one on spook and the other on a drop shot. Also saw a couple of guys doing well trolling crank baits and watched them catch a really nice large mouth that I think I heard them say went over 6lbs. They were excited, took some pics and let it go.

Been fishing the last few mornings. Finding decent quantity of good sized fish with a 3/4oz chrome Dixie jet spoon on the main lake. The majority of the spotted bass were good keepers. Caught one really good largemouth and couple of good white bass. There are some surfacing but I haven’t caught one on top yet and they appear to smaller fish. Will post pics shorty.

Like Bob Ross!😂

Yep. I fished the dam to persimmon and spent way too much time in and in the bushes. It was tough. Only caught a handful on a shaky head and ned rig and not in places that you normally catch them when the water is up.

And Basscat used one for their new hybrid. This would be a great opportunity for either Basscat or Charger to buy this one and splash a new 176, if anyone is listening!😉

Quill, I haven’t checked in since late last night so I’m sure I missed some stuff, but Wrench’s initial response was a heck of an endorsement that could only help the cause. Too bad it had to get deleted. Regardless, I appreciate the intent.
