  1. I heard Chuck lost a nice brown at the boat yesterday? 20+lb class fish I was told, didn't fit in his net. Not sure what he hooked it on though.
  2. Man that's a packed belly full of scuds. Just finished your 1 cast from this morning. Hoping this bite keeps up till we get down Thursday... Was planning a trip to 11pt and NFOW, but they are gonna likely be chocolate milk... I'm a sucker for flood gates and shad bite on Taney though 😆
  3. Man that's a beautiful brownie. Thanks for sharing Hey I'm probably heading your way Thursday I sent you a PM on here too.
  4. You guys, trimming ears is dangerous. My wife waxes the inside of mine and the tops. The first few times were less than pleasant, but after that it's just minor screaming after the first few strips come out. Sucks being a sasquatch that grows hair everywhere except on my bald head..m
  5. He's a great guy and always enjoy the conversation.
  6. Heck yeah buddy! That's awesome. Nothing can keep a great fisherman away from his natural habitat Keep getting stronger friend.
  7. Tell em you fought Mike Tyson. Seriously though good luck with the other one and hope for the best for ya.
  8. I had em cut a spot off my nose a few years ago. I was just with my wife at her dermatologist appointment and the doc was like let me look at that nose. My pops has had nose and hands cut on multiple times. Being outdoors can be a hazard but beats hiding in the basement. Was a wake up call for me to practice better skin care in the sun, and gave me more excuses to keep fishing at night... Good luck to all my OAF friends dealing with this crud. It's less than pleasant, good thing for me you can't fix ugly and scars are cool right?
  9. Glad you didn't get stuck. Had the water come up there one night on us with no horn... not fun.
  10. Haven't done a turn and burn in a while, but it's warming up so some night time sea monster chasing is likely in order. Been too tied up night hunting right now to be fishin... One fish guarantee is still on the table but I learned early not to guarantee a brownie. Sometimes we'd catch a bunch, other times not a single one.
  11. I bought the cheaper hodgeman brand waders for my kiddos as they outgrow them. They're $40 and have actually held up pretty good through a few hand me downs. I bought a pair off Amazon for my youngest and hers are made pretty well and have survived a few outings. She liked them because they're colorful instead of her sisters ugly brown waders lol
  12. Sorry to hear that. We'll keep Alex and your families in our prayers...
  13. Beautiful brown. I'm pretty sure I know that area you're talking about too as Cody and I last fished the white hole access and drifted by they're a few times.
  14. Prayers your way. Hope for the best.
  15. Ultralight and jigs work very well. Even just cranking jigs in as fast as you can with a pause or two produced for us last time I was down. Swim them and pop them too in current will produce. Tri Olive is usually my best color there followed by sculpin, then white in the early morning. I fish a jerk bait fast and short pauses been my best results down there.
  16. We got maybe 2in here in St. Paul... they called off school yesterday around 5pm... roads are totally clear here and just wet. Non event for us and we usually get more being so close to the river.
  17. Some eye and nose pics and some comparison from when he was hangin
  18. Ketchup, my Taxi said he'd go 140 or just below so you're spot on. I did a quick score sheet last night with a soft tape and came up at 141.5 after 10.5 in subtraction, but just a noob following guides and you tubers. John I texted ya some pics.
  19. Got a happy text today from my taxidermist to come pick up my buck from last year. The last hours of work drug on forever... Headed out at 5 in the monsoon, thankfully he lives pretty close. He led me to his workshop and said I have to pick him out of the line up. Saw mine immediately and got a cool goosebumps feeling. Taxidermist did just an outstanding job, and even without the rack I would of picked his long snout out of that lineup. I've never been much of a trophy hunter, and he's no giant, but thankful to have this one and such a great job done on the mount. I'll get some better pics once I get him up on the wall. Gonna try to score him before going up. Not sure what the heck I'm doing but I'll figure it out 😆

Congrats on a memorable harvest Ketchup. I know you're son was there with you. Keep those memories alive...
  23. Glad you made it out and had some success! Hope you're able to continue to do so too. Fishing is great for the mind, body, and soul.
  24. Been out twice this week. First outing I got interrupted by a work call and watched multiple keeper bass suddenly apear and swim past while I walked back to the truck... Today i took out a new 7'6 3wt I picked up on clearance from cabelas. It's a cheap rod but fills a hole I had for small creeks and streams. Those of you who've seen me cast understand a better rod is wasted on my ugly side arm cast I do with my bum shoulder lol Caught 2 bass and 2 gills on a wooly bugger. Fish were really cold to the touch still so they were a bit sluggish. First fish of 2023 was the monster below! Making John and Ham proud micro fishing with the long rod 😆 I guess the bright side is they should only get bigger from here on out!
  25. Congrats on the new species! Way to tough out the cold
