Nice fish!! I’ll be at Taney the next 5 days and I was thinking of going to the White on a side trip.

25 years ago that place was filthy with birds. Old timers said the birds died off when they quit running coyotes with dogs and horses. Now we only get a covey or two in 350 plus acres.

My buddy has two Brittany's and they are well trained. We were at my family farm a couple years ago chasing one of the last couple covey's left. The dogs were going nuts and all birdy but they wouldn't hold a point. We beat around in the bushes and nothin..... We backed out and I look up and the covey was in the tree above us. I've never seen that before.

I finally had some a few years ago at the jigfest in AR. Best freshwater fish I've ever eaten.

On Taney yes but not the White and Norfork as much. Norfork only has a couple docks and they are far between on the White.

My youngest did TV commercials for 10 years or so and I already had escapism problems and that only made them worse. Being on the set with her only enforced my skepticism. I just see fake stuff I can't buy into. I go to the Starwars Movies for my wife and I've slept through every Star trek episode from every series.

I've only been to the theater a few times in 20 years. I always go to the new Star Wars Movies with my wife. She loves them. And it's always at the nice theaters with all the accoutrements. Otherwise she works for the cable company and we get everything for $17/month so we just wait for them to come out on demand. It has another great benefit, I can just walk away 10 minutes in because I just buy into movies. I have escapism problems according to my wife and daughter. I just sit there going: You know people can't fly right? You know that 110 pound girl can't punch that guy and make him fly across the room.....

Will it be a named storm like they do for hurricanes??

I saw the trailer and while I'm not a big movie buff it looks really good.

I had the same success Saturday. Water only came up a foot but it was muddy with flotsam floating everywhere. The only upside was nobody on the river. The weather guy this morning said if we don't get another drop of rain the rest of the year we would still finish above normal for the year. And right now we are more than a foot above normal.

I finally saw some bank fisherman this weekend. They had lines out down in historic st Charles. I didn’t get to talk to them though.

I've never driven home pissed from a fishing trip. I just like going fishing. I prefer catching but that doesn't always happen. Sometimes I know I'm going to face difficult conditions and still go. I guess I could post all my bad trips but I thought people wanted to hear about success and see pictures. So in that vain, I hit a local river Saturday morning that had jumped a foot overnight. I was surprised how muddy it was and only caught 3 dink smallmouth. Two on a spinnerbug and one on a square bill. Drove home feeling pretty good except I had to go to a charity auction that night. They did have bottle beer though.
