Look at you go! I had to google to understand.... There’s a lot of truth in this and, a lot of Japanese companies build right here in the USA. It’s completely possible to build and engineer here as evidenced by Toyota, Honda and Nissan along with Yamaha. Different culture and mindset for the Japanese based companies. Longer term gets more consideration versus quarterly financial reports. Stock market related pressures influence a lot of decisions on timing for too many companies. heaven help us if the Germans get into outboards....

IMO a plan to start that aligns seasonally and for the weather is important. Tweaking from there is where it’s at. There is no one size or lure solution... at least I think tats why we have rod boxes and copious tackle 🙂 confidence in an area (not a “spot”) can help get things rolling.

KVD talked about prefishing for the weather coming not the conditions of the day. IMO it’s all about confidence and individual strengths. Guys that like to fish deep or finesse often won’t hope for the same stuff as shallow power technique folks. I like colored water, more so if warming, less color if cold. Never gin clear. I chase it and sun with a breeze. Clouds and wind, maybe a little clearer. Mid conditions are right I’ll try a few techniques, otherwise I leave quick and adjust

Fished KC area again today. Rigged all but 1. Had 10-11 keepers Was told of a crankbait bite, it has me stumped. I’d rather grind a wart than sling a rig any day. Did manage 1 late in the day on a wart and broke one off on a wart. Sad day, it was my last original natural green.

Got out for a few hours for some spring break bass around Kimberling City. Was slower than I hoped. My last outing was 3/3 and I was surprised to see the temps down 2 degrees in the clean water. Saw from 44-48 in clear water, 48-50 with color. Color is on the dam side of the KC bridge though the creeks there were still clean. Mill was dirty front to back. Who knows with the forecasted rain. Caught a few, marked many more. Best below.

Great point mixer on the backing. I use old mono and tie in with a surgeons knot. fluorocarbon is spendy and the 200yd spools always have waste. I narrowed down to 3 fluoro line sizes and have them in bulk spools. Gut feel on 200yd spool, I was wasting a reel fill every 2 spools Amazon gets to about the same price as tackle warehouse Christmas sale.

U looking for spare or primary? the Yamaha props are certainly dialed in and a 25 trophy with a seal ring screams on the hpdi low water gear case. Just another option in case.

I wish I would’ve fired up and switched stretches of the lake Saturday. I was shocked how clean the creeks from cow to mill were. Good for u to make an in game change like that, takes some faith.

Fished the KC area yesterday. It was ok. Plan was to crank some up in the stained water in the creeks with the wind. I was disappointed to see how clear it was. For as much wind as there was, it was tough to find it blowing on a chunk rock bank. Scratched out a limit and probably 10 shorts. Wart runs the perfect depth to stay above the slime. Nice to crank on tr and not slime all the time. jerkbait and rig bite are on. 47-50 water lots of fish being caught.

Yet another FLW boat crash. Thankfully all have survived this one. Maybe they self report better than other circuits. Either way, they have some changes to make.

I’d like to agree but....can’t. Parents and the normal family have changed. There are exceptions everywhere and plenty of disengaged parents. My family is odd. Stay at home Mom by her choice/passion. Single income and 2 kids. We do ok and are pretty involved with the kiddos. Old school on manners and polite expectations. We play a lot of baseball and u can easily tell the kids who are part of a family from the ones viewed as something their folks have to deal with. A few drop offs with no parents at practice, they break down if they are having a bad day way easier than the kids with involved parents. Coddled kids show real easy and struggle with handling mistakes we all make. Im not that old (compared to a lot of u guys 🙂) and my disdain for electronics and the virtual world online grows by the day. Manifesto posts on social media, distorted reality on tv, etc. The quicker kids understand they get what they try for the better off we all are. For Pete’s sake we reward train dogs and folks entitle their kids. It’s a shame.

You are on to something with this. One thing most have is an online persona claiming their intentions. Vegas was an exception. This dude was called in and not acted on. Too much concern for feelings and not enough for flesh.

I’ve only been they with wife and kids. One day I want to wander the animal side and read every placard. The transition from pre-historic to native to buffalo hunters and Teddy Rosevelt could easily take 2 hours to read and comprehend. I would love to thumb thru teddy’s book under glass in the replica cabin.
