Thank the Good Lord I've found one that loves fishing as much, maybe more than I do. I know I can always have one of whatever and all I have to do is get her one too
I worked on a highway job between Helen and Cleveland. Stayed at a Ramada Inn in Helen. This was probably about 10 years ago and there was a store in Cleveland where you could get an RC and a Moon Pie for a dollar. Upper Hooch is good fishing. Need to go check it out again.
Thanks BilletHead. I will. Really looking forward to it.
When you say upper are you talking above the lake or just below the dam? I've fished both but it's been a long time. I used to fish Island Ford all the time. Went out there a couple of weeks ago and didn't get a bite. I've heard the stripers are eating everything in the lower end.
I think the GP land is open to the public. Fishing here is so hit and miss. Even during delayed harvest. I suspect poaching has a lot to do with it. Some folks just don't care. I'm just as happy making trips to The Ozarks, North Carolina and Tennessee.
Thanks Phil. I will look him up.And I'll be sure to stop by your place. I think I've already been talking with one of your competitors though. Sorry about that. I've never hired a guide before in my life. Not to toot my own horn but I've usually been successful anywhere I've fished. Actually My dad Is a licensed Coast Guard Captain and charter fished shortly after he retired. I just grew up learning fishing. That's all I did. Just really want to do a float trip because our time is going to be limited and for photography purposes. Will definitely stop by your place though. Thanks to all for making me feel welcome here.
I lived in Denver for a couple of years and through work I got to see all 4 corners of the state. Also some of Wyoming and Utah. I would go back out there in a heartbeat. I didn't get to do as much fishing as I would have liked but what I did get to do was amazing. I plan to get back one day and am gonna buy some property there.
