  1. I float Northfork a lot and enjoy catching trout (prefer smallmouth) but as far as fixing the trout population I dont see it happening. The banks are bare no shade on lower end. I believe the water is warmer. And I saw couple 2 or 3 hundred stripers on lower end (no doubt they are eating everything that moves) Here my 2 cents the dam wont ever be replaced because risk of people being hurt or killed. Without the dam no stopping the lake fish from running up. I believe the great trout fishing on NF is ran its course.
  2. Started year off same as always on water on New Years day. Went to Bull Shoals and started off throwing jerk bait but managed to drop my drag chain in lake. And way the wind was blowing wasnt able sit still enough fish jerk bait. Moved back in coves dragging a gitzit. Still not sure what I think of the Bull after few days of fishing it. But I actually got to fish the first 4 days of the year so off to good start for time on water atleast.
  3. This almost new 6.5x20 by 50mm Burris scope. Just cleaning out some stuff not using. Would sale $300 but rather trade for fishing stuff. Looking for 5 or 7 inch fish finders, motorguide xi3 or xi5 or battery. Will to give boot for right deals. Thanks
  4. Savage Mark 2, with new osprey scope. Would sale $400 but rather trade for fishing related stuff. Setting up fishing kayak needing 5 or 7 inch fish finder, motorguide xi3 or xi5 or battery. I'm will give boot.
  5. Not my last (caught few large mouth few days ago) but last pic I took.
  6. Does anyone on here have any experience fishing kayak bass tourneys?
  7. 1. Get kids out more we mainly kayak fish and the 2 older ones are big enough to paddle there own kayak now. (Game Changer) and youngest is old enough to spend full day infront my boat. 2. Try fish few of kayak tournaments which should put us on some new water also. 3. Get back to my roots. We recently moved and I have found several wading size streams near by. Plan on introducing kids to way it all started for me. 4. Cut back few other hobbies and put more time on water.
  8. When all permits went from the water proof yellow paper to plain white paper. I knew I would have get new copy every month from getting mine wet. I started use the Mohunting app on my phone not that I'm very computer savvy. But for most part it work good.
  9. Can anyone tell me the bass clubs that run mostly out Norfork or Bull Shoals lakes. I got to fish my first tournament this past Saturday and had blast. Thanks in advance
  10. I grew up literally a rock throw from a creek that was about half size Bryant or Northfork but was best hidden secret in southern missouri for big smallies. And that was my home water. But now it filled in and about dry. So I spend most my time running the rivers near by still chasing those big river smallie. I spend most my time on upper Northfork river so that's where I cast my vote but several other streams I like just as well.
  11. Had just little bit time slip off today. I just bought a Nucanoe Pursuit kayak and thought might as well give it try. Truck said 32 degree when I got out and hit water. Not another soul in sight. Floated down about half and fished few bluff walls. Wasnt great fishing but caught 1 chunk of smallie. Just enough action to get the itch.
  12. Here is March float either last year or year before when I paddle for my momma. Also been catch several Stripers on lower half.
  13. Got plans to float all Northfork River at one time this spring. I know river well and have floated all of it but never at once. Would anyone be interested in going along. Looking at late March or early April its usually good fishing. Looking at about 50 miles (7.5 mile average per day). Put in at highway 76 bridge take out at Tecumseh bridge Norfork Lake. I'm figuring 6 nights and 7 days on river. Prob have wife meet me half way and restock ice and food. This is trip I wanted to do last 2 years. But seems a week on river is to much for my buddies. Anyone game or has any question let me know.
