  1. Sorry Phil, Jackson was a good dog we always enjoyed him.
  2. As Basil Bacon told me several years ago, "I fished away 3 farms trying to get my name in the paper" did not recommend as a career choice.
  3. My 1983 Mariner(Yamaha) has never needed parts other than water pump impellers......but it is a two stroke obviously.
  4. In our thoughts and prayers
  5. Some knowledgeable dude told me to follow the channel and keep motor trimmed up..... I did not but got the lift adjusted.
  6. Update, took the boat to @fishinwrench Tuesday afternoon. By Wednesday evening he had it diagnosed and working as intended. Apparently the previous water pump installation was done by some bonehead old man(who shall remain nameless) had improperly installed so "the water pump base seal had fallen out, and that would not allow the pump to align properly....which destroyed the water tube grommet." I took it for a run yesterday, from the Gravois Ramp to main lake and back it worked as intended. Nothing damaged except my pride and wallet. Thanks to fishinwrench for getting me going so quickly.
  7. @fishinwrenchtext sent, I did get the recommended oil injection delete completed and a test run, all seems well except the overheating issue. I think you hit the problem on the head with the pop off, but could be the thermostats? Just do not think I am up to doing that pop off yet. Will set up bringing it up for your expertise and skill.
  8. Tone solid beeeep, and gauge on dash reading hot. If I drop to idle it will cool down in just a few have had the beep beep beep oil injection one, just pop the cowling, loosen the lid on the on motor while running, let it fill the reservoir, it sometimes bleeds off while sitting in non use, seems fine if using daily. Have not had the water in fuel one....yet. Thanks @fishinwrench
  9. started prepping to work on it tomorrow, when I pulled the cowling found this disconnected???? Sits behind the front cowling latch going into the EFI box??? Plugged in, latch fits? Guessing knocked loose removing cowling latch? (which I have to do occasionally to bleed the on tank reservoir, due not having "deleting" the oil injection system ...yet.. as instructed by @fishinwrench)
  10. Sorry @fishinwrench I somehow caught covid so will be delayed about a week.
  11. Thanks @fishinwrench I will not dig into the Pop-off, just the water pump assembly and make sure it is functioning properly. Will give you a call. Thanks
  12. @fishinwrenchGlen I plan on pulling it a part this week and making sure nothing obvious is amiss. How far out are you on messing with it? Problem is that I can not tell much on muffs or a tank, it has to run to get hot??? You have a whole lake right there as long as its not froze.
  13. Maybe I did not get the tube properly aligned??
  14. It is only at WOT, I watch my gauge so no warnings I just drop back to idle until it drops, figure if thermostat it would do it at mid range???
  15. As @snagged in outlet 3 says put out the Wrench beacon @fishinwrench I did my normal replace the water pump impeller as I do every 2-3 years. It was not getting too hot but increasing temp at mid range throttle, fine at idle or WOT. It was showing wear so I put the "kit" in. Now it is fine at idle, ok at mid range but gets hot at WOT????? No idea if I need a thermostat or heaven forbid I put it back together wrong.....or ???? Deciding where to start or if I need to turn it over to a professional? After 5 heart procedures, cancer surgery and radiation in the past 3 years, not sure I am strong enough to tackle a big project. Thanks for guidance
  16. Received this text from Mrs. @WoundedOne, Lisa, wanted to share. "I’m wanted to thank you and the forum family for Saturday. The love and friendship shared was touching. Both Victoria and Carol were very moved you guys are very special. I know Michael’s with us and wanted us to be amongst those who loved him. Plus thank you for sharing your friendship and your love with my family. I know that meant so much to him."
  17. We had a great get-together at Lilley's. The only way it would have been better if Michael would have been there. His Widow, Mom and Daughter and her Finance were there. @Seth did a great job frying crappie, potatoes, Wild Turkey breast and hushpuppies. @BilletHead presented the family with a beautiful plaque that Duane had made. @Mrs. BilletHead managed the cleanup and serving everyone. Michaels ashes were put in the lake. We miss you Buddy!

Ladybear and I will bring potatoes, onions to add to @Seth crappie fry, hushpuppies and a dessert. And anything else we need. 22. Peggy has a broken foot and is in a boot, the snow and cold are a challenge. We might make it by for a while Saturday afternoon???? Will keep you all posted.
  23. Sorry @Flysmallie the forecast high of 24 on Saturday does not bode well for me to wade fish, let alone bring the boat. If I would smarten up should just stay here and put wood in the stove. Sorry, maybe next time.
  24. First, I am not a very good Taney fisherman, could likely get a ticket for trying to impersonate one. But yesterday afternoon (1/20/26) I tried a bit, and admittedly had read this thread. So I started off with 7x, broke a good fish off, wore another to near exhaustion and had trouble getting them hooked up. Was throwing a #16 gray scud so not a jig. I switched to 6x(My version is 4# maxima) my take rate fell a bunch, but my catch rate went up. Likely need some of that #3 @snagged in outlet 3 speaks of.
