  1. Peggy and I went down and spent some time with Lisa and Ian this afternoon. She and Michael had been together 36 years. She did not see this coming....she is as shocked as the rest of us. She said he enjoyed Jigfest so much and was looking forward to Taneyfest. She will need some time to heal, but thinks we need some type of "Celebration of Life" to help the family and "us" with closure. She is considering "Taneyfest" and will keep us posted as she gets a handle on things. Hold your loved ones tight, and keep those prayers coming. g
  2. Friends, normally I would start a post such as this, "with a heavy heart..." but my heart is broken into too many pieces to be heavy. Our friend and fishing buddy, Michael @WoundedOne was overcame by this world Friday afternoon and left us. I would have posted earlier, but was waiting on his wife and children to decide their next step. They have made the decision not to have a service, "that was just not him." There may possibly be some type of celebration of life sometime after the first of the year. We will post if/when we make it happen, (Possibly in conjunction with Taneyfest???) Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. If any of you need someone to talk with I have open ears.
  3. Ronnie if it is not too cold and I am physically able to bring my boat you will have a seat. @Flysmallie
  4. Plan on getting mine at Taneyfest, Hope the match deal applies to the polar plunge.....🥶
  5. I had planned on bringing a boat but not sure I can even get myself gathered up enough to come riding with someone. Unless I get a lot stronger by early next week I will have to bail completely.
  6. Austin was a great kid and has grown into a fine young man, excellent job.
  7. 2x for this old fat man
  8. Yeah buddy in Colorado called me about 6 weeks ago asking.
  9. From what I understand 12/11-14. I have not been on the White in 2 years. With the lack of stocking this will be a "brotherhood" trip, do not expect fishing to be much. Life has certainly got in my way.
  10. Hey Cody, well I spoke with @Phil Lilley and @WoundedOne a bit yesterday. I am kicking it around, if the weather is too bad for me I can hang at the lodge? @Terrierman and I are pretty efficient eating pizza and watching football if it is cold and rainy....
  11. Dang I was in Colorado and missed it. Would like to have a couple fly rods/blanks and a few more of their crappie rods(they are great for 1/8 oz jigs) crappie and trout
  12. Actually that is one of the steps I used in applying the gflex and kevlar to my Royalex canoes, it is supposed to open up the plastic for better adhesion mine have stayed put for several years and well over 1,000 miles on each.
  13. I am down to 3 old town canoes, they have some years on them, all have skid plates front and rear, as they were worn similar to yours, they float fine and I do not worry shooting over thin shoals. I have had the best luck with kevlar cloth and G-flex holding up for years. https://www.westsystem.com/products/g-flex-650-toughened-epoxy/
  14. how high the lake is......
  15. The current elevation of Pomme de Terre Lake is 847.4 feet and has decreased by 0.29 feet in the last 24 hours. The normal pool level is 839 feet. They are releasing 2950 cfs so falling. With more rain forecast Friday, Saturday and Sunday......I would bring a flipping stick and some spinnerbaits.
  16. 5.75 just a mile north of you, got the mowing done Friday
  17. Mr. Jackson ….it is me again…. If you can hang on to it until I manage to get my truck up there for a warranty repair I would like to have it. Will pm when I get to a real computer. Thanks les
  18. I have not @Bill Babler , since we usually take the 5th Wheel, I prefer not to double pull that far. Even though our youngest son lives in Chicago, we route around that circus. So I am limited to my kayak unless I hook up with one of the locals who are mostly interested in deep trolling for salmon. We have approached the Kangaroo from various angles.....simply too many folks, will likely try again this summer. I like the two little city lakes at Alaska, the Kewaunee County Lake and the Forestville Lake. The Ahapee River below Forestville to the mouth in Algoma is a prime spot for 6 inch bull heads....I have spent some time up the Kewaunee River from the mouth to the salmon hatchery .with limited success, but the river is full of crawfish I know I am just not figuring it out. Have to get out of my @BilletHead mindset and take more spinning and casting gear this year. Will share if I figure anything out. Appreciate your reports.
  19. Gentlemen, I certainly am grateful for the @Bill Babler suggestions, hope to give Nightingale Supper Club and pizza a shot, Mr. Glidden is way over this fixed income budget. As for the Prince of Pierogi..... @Terrierman told us about this a few years ago...... I know they may not appreciate the recommendation from a guy with a quadruple bypass and four stents.... but we go every year at least once when up there.... The food is excellent, the Polish Beer is great, I am not really a beer drinker, but much better than that kraft crap. Ladybear and I usually attempt to go at a off time to visit with the Brothers, enjoy the stories Great Folks, good people. Looking forward to the Nightingale Supper Club when it gets hot in the Ozarks. Great area, music in the parks fish the small lakes mostly....... no 4 ft rollers for this old man. g
  20. Dutch, I do not want to hog anyone out of it, I do have a bubba, but @BilletHeads Rapala is better. I have been "jonesing" for one.
  21. and another???? Be Careful out there guys.
