  1. Thanks...and I found the thread that you had mentioned....I am headed down today for the Thanksgiving Holiday so I appreciate the report. C4F
  2. Great pictures and report Bobby - I wondered when they would be schooling and the deep bite would be better. I am surprised that they didn't hit the spoon....How did you rig the fluke? C4F
  3. Quill - Thanks for posting the pic....he was a good fisherman for sure...sorry to hear that life ended to early for him and for sure prayers for his family. As was said - he seemed to be in a place that he loved...death takes to many to soon. Some day we will understand why. C4F
  4. I am with Cheese....Aunt's is as good as anyplace. As Mike said if we get closer to the dam there are tourney's coming out of State Park etc. As far as time of year there will always be conflicts no matter the time but I like the late fall as it is a nice break. C4F
  5. It was a fun day for sure....good food and good conversation....I did use your suggestion Bill and caught a few, mainly dinks and it sounds like most caught fish.....but that Cheese guy caught them all on a jerk bait!! Apparently he did not get the memo that this is NOT jerk bait season! It was good to see everyone not to mention the money that was raised for the High School fishing club. BTW Cheese I listened to the crying and moaning from the Husker less faithful... C4F
  6. Getting ready for the morning!!!!
  7. Thanks Mike - so a normal Saturday of the rock!? C4F
  8. Do I see Jim Cantore in the back ground? If that is the case then you folks need to head for the hills! C4F
  9. I hope you went fishing today you had bites galore!! C4F
  10. abkeenan you are not doing it right....to get the good stuff you need to call the cove not to be spoken of a separate country...we would then ship you everything that you need to sustain yourself and your infrastructure. That way you wouldnt have to put up with the hand me downs C4F
  11. Great report Bill....I guess that is why they call it fishing... One thing that jumped out to me was you giving the client the option to fish or not. That smacks of integrity and not typical these days...thanks!! C4F
  12. Quill - as the guys said no real sad feelings and maybe a bit of jealousy since you are fishing and some of us are living vicariously through these posts just to get through the workday...but it does suck to miss that many! Thanks for the report! C4F
  13. Thanks for sharing Quill...I have done the jerk bait thing a time or two but up here in our ponds there doesn't seem to be much love. That and I think I get bored to quickly and mess up the cadence. I think I just admitted that it is the fisherman and not the fish!?!? C4F
  14. Curtisce that is one fat Bass!! Thanks for the pictures. C4F
  15. Mike - nice report and you must be a great teacher if your friend was able to pick up a bait caster and not have a "professional overcast" the first couple of times.... Sounds like fish may be transitioning...but if Bill struggles.....I am not sure what to think!?!? But I am envious of the both of you... A question - if everyone knows about the anonymous cove is it really anonymous? Just asking for a friend...😉 C4F
  16. What else would there to bring? Let me know C4F
  17. Travis you are right.....first thing in the morning right below Fall Creek there are some real stout fish biting! I have to assume they are working down from the trophy area. C4F
  18. Messed up loading pics.....here they are!! C4F
  19. The fish are fighting and strong...some were wearing out but time in the water using the net to revive them and they swam off in good shape. I had the best luck early in the morning using a sculpin and olive jig and of course the old faithful pink worm. I have not fished with any kind of live bait for years.....brought the wife this week and she loves worms so that is what she used....low and behold she caught a 3 lb+ rainbow down by Monkey Island. 😒 C4F
  20. Great looking fish there....we had similar success but it was really slow for us....my best time was before 6 a.m. up by Fall Creek. All were on a sculpin and olive jig C4F
  21. Travis is right about the 8' pole and 2lb line....I became a believer years ago in 2 lb line... and that is all I fish with....it can be a real PITA to tie a jig or whatever when everything is wet....the 8' pole does give you better leverage, but I have also done well on the Lilley's 6' special. The key is to watch the float, keep slack out of the line - and if the water is clear many times you can see the jig or pink worm....when it disappears set the hook. The weight of the jig depends on water flow...the slower or no generation the smaller weight. I learned how to "snap" the rod by watching Phil's reports....that is an incredible effective technique. C4F
  22. Seth - yep we are down until next Sunday, I will look for you ....bring all of your trout skills this week....is has been a little humbling! C4F
  23. Either Blake or Levi for the night stuff...I will be down Friday for a week + If you are able to get out during the day or early a.m. you would be welcome to ride along. C4F
  24. The belly's on those trout!! They have been eating well!! C4F
