The last time I fished Lions Lake was in 1973. I moved here from Washington in Feb 1974. I would walk there many times as a kid. I only lived a little over 1 mile away. I would usually come home with a stringer full of big bluegill and an occasional bass after fishing on the bottom with worms at the dam. Childhood memories.

My crappie experience on Pomme in October to December is fishing bluffs 30 ft deep with crappie bombs and minnows. Worked ok for me last year.

Carl. I find crappie by downloading Missouri MDC fish attractors GPX maps. Brushpiles and your current location are indicated on the lake you select. I boat to those locations until the brushpile shows up on my fish finder. Sometimes it takes several brushpiles to find one that is producing. I've been catching them on crappie bombs with minnows. Hope that helps.

The guide asked me not to reveal. As courtesy towards him, I will honor his request. He stated people have actually followed him while driving to the ramp and followed him around the lake as well.

Great. Let us know how you do. You should be able to catch alot of whites on shallow windblown banks.

Four of us limited on Hybrids by 9am on a guided trip from Cody's bait and tackle. We went out ourselves that evening and picked up two dozen crappie. We did not fish in the rain Tuesday. We picked up another two dozen crappie before we went home Wednesday. We made memories.

It's been awhile since I have posted. I was an avid fly fisherman for many years, mostly along the White River basin. Things got busy and priorities shifted. I am now retired and picked up an old deck boat and an old bass boat. I have been focusing on becoming more proficient as a multi species fisherman. I've been able to limit on crappie most all times of the year. I've done well on white bass and occasionally pick up a small hybrid. I learn alot from reading, you tube, fishing with guides and other experienced anglers. I still need to build confidence in walleye, catfish, and largemouth fishing. I used to bass fish in the mid 1980s. There's quite a learning curve to be a jack of all trades. I still need to get my fly rods back down on Taney.

I am rather passionate about music. Last night I listened to The Wild Feathers. I own quite a few instruments, play a few of them, and am still in the middle of building a studio. Live music always captivates me. I can sit on a bench at Silver Dollar City and watch bluegrass for hours. I have seen a few concerts in my day includingAlabama, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Bad Company, Black Oak Arkansas, Blue Oyster Cult, Bob Seger, Bon Jovi, Brad Paisley, Brooks and Dunn, The Cars, Charlie Daniels, Cheap Trick, Daughtry, David Cook, Def Leppard, Dokken, Doobie Brothers, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Freddy Fender, Freddy Hart, George Strait, Glen Campbell, Government Mule, Greg Allman, Halestorm, Hank Williams Jr., Head East, Heart, Hot Tuna, Jamie Johnson, Jason Isbell, Jefferson Starship, John Cougar, Joe Bonamassa, Journey, Judas Priest, Kansas, Kenny Rogers, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Los Lobos, Lynrd Skynrd, Mark Chesnut, Marshall Tucker Band, Metallica, Mickey Gilley, Missouri, Molly Hatchett, Night Ranger, Outlaws, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Ozzy Osbourne, Pat Benatar, Pearl Jam, Peter Frampton, Rainbow, Ratt, REO Speedwagon, Rolling Stones, Rush, Sawyer Brown, Scorpions, Sheryl Crow, Staind, 38 Special, Steve Miller Band, Styx, 3 Doors Down, Toby Keith, Ted Nugent, Tracy Bird, Trace Atkins, Van Halen, UFO, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Whitesnake, and ZZ Top.

I hit a stick a few weeks ago after I thought I had cleared the timber at the island. Was barely sticking out of the water. No damage to the boat and missed the prop.

I wouldn't buy a boat, vehicle, lawnmower, bicycle or anything without a test drive. I purchased a boat last August and the owners met me at the lake. I rode along while he was driving, inspected the boat and accessories, and asked questions. Then it was my turn. I opened up the motor and took off. I steered it around the lake awhile. I idled it at trolling speed awhile. It ran great. We loaded up and I gave him cash.

I picked up an Epiphone Lucille at a pawn shop recently. Replaced the stock pickups with Seth Lovers and replaced the pots. Nice guitar for the money.

Spent some time on YouTube this week looking for ideas to cook stuff I haven't made yet. Today is the day. I plan to cook a boneless leg of lamb in the oven. I will also make a scalloped potato dish with onions, sweet peppers, Cavenders seasoning, and a stick of butter. On the smoker I plan to make smoked carmelized onions in an iron skillet, smoked slowly at 225 degrees. Last but not least I will smoke a cabbage with a cored out center layered with garlic, butter, and seasonings, and some beer or chicken broth. The top of the cabbage will be layered with bacon. I plan to wrap in foil with a vented top and smoke for 2 hours at 225 degrees. Wish me luck. Was very tasty.

My homemade prepared baits do not stay on the bait holders very well as commercial dip bait. Does anyone know if there is something to add to the bait to make it stickier?
