  1. Wade down to the corner from the bridge is what we were told. So I grabbed a couple of friends and went in that direction. What we found at the corner was one of the prettiest little stretches of river I have ever seen. And it was full of smallmouth. Nothing big but still plenty of enjoyment.
  2. I haven't hunted dove in many years. Yesterday I grabbed the drone and went out to the local conservation area to just goof around. That's when I remembered it was dove season and got to thinking about doing a little. I never got the drone out because there were a few empty trucks sitting around and I don't want to be accidently buzzing somebody that is trying to hunt. But I might join them in the field. When I was a kid by mom would cover the breasts with BBQ sauce and bake them in the oven. I don't know if they were medium, medium-rare, medium- well, or what but I do know they were delicious.
  3. Kind of. Probably works for your use but doesn't work well for filters. A warm oven is a lot better than a microwave.
  4. You need to learn to crop!!
  5. That would be correct. They are made to keep moisture out of the air not dry off after a bath. And again they can only hold so much. Once they are full they are worthless. We sell 5 lb buckets of them for air compressor filters. Once they reach the max moisture level they get changed out.
  6. They absorb water but only a certain amount.
  7. It's an area I'm very fond of. Kerr is a put in for James River Outfitters and can get very busy during the summer. But I still love it. Smallmouth fishing is good but you are going to have to learn to love some spots. Crane down that far is going to be more smallmouth water than trout.

    What's Cooking?

We make wings on Fridays sometimes at work. The best ones get smoked for a bit, sauced, breaded, fried, sauced, fried again, and finally sauced. They are delicious.
  9. Come to Springfield
  10. This is awesome.
  11. I know that spot.
  12. You once handed me your scud box that had 32,769 flies in it. This is just normal. Beautiful job.
  13. I have failed. But I gave it a hell of a shot. Tiffani will still fish but it's not on her list of priorities.
  14. If he doesn't say yes he shall be banished.
  15. But that's my casting style.
  16. You would think so but it's actually an advantage to them when they can't cast very far to begin with.
  17. Taught one of my daughters to cast in the yard when she was around 10. It gave her a chance to focus on casting without having to worry about catching a fish. Then we went to a small local pond to terrorize bluegill. That gave her lots of action so she could focus on that aspect of it. Bluegill are easy so again she didn't have to worry too much about getting a fish to bite. Then we went to a trout park to land a trout. This "learning" period lasted a few weeks. And we were out in the yard practicing her casting at least every other day. It paid off in the end because when she got to the trout water she already knew what she was up against. She hadn't perfected the craft by far but she was a lot more comfortable with it than just going in there cold.
  18. BWAAAAHHHAAAAAHHHAAAAAA!! I knew the answer. I did show you there are some nice bass in there so it must be you. Good luck Sunday.
  19. I spent the majority of my 20's on Pomme de Terre and have yet to land a musky. I never fished for them but you would think the amount of time that I spent bass fishing I would have caught one. I can only think of two fish I ever hooked that were probably musky. @Harps fly fishes Fellows quite a bit in the cooler months for musky. Hey Jeff, why don't you tell them how many musky you have caught fly fishing Fellows?
  20. There is a railroad bridge just down from it. But the Y was a car bridge. Pretty cool thing to see.
  21. Lake regulations begin at the Y bridge in Galena.
  22. Hardly. Actually if you call standing up for treating people with respect anger, then yeah I’m the worst MF’er you will ever run across.
