  1. I have a couple on my office wall that belonged to my dad. The only reason they are there was to save them from the dump because nobody else wanted them. And that's the same reason they are where they are today and I really wish they weren't. But what do you do with them? I too would rather have a nice photo. I have the pics of my dad with these fish and they are much more interesting than the fish hanging on the wall.
  2. Nice variety of fish! And that spot looks very familiar. If that's the spot I'm thinking it's been a good location for a long time.
  3. That bridge is behind me. And my dog would say it’s a perfect spot for swimming.
  4. But do you recognize it?
  5. It's definitely an Ozarks Howler. I saw one at Roaring River on Sunday and have photographic evidence.
  6. Most carp tournaments, the ones that seem to be popular in the US anyway, the carp have arrows funneled into them.
  7. I'm not sure I trust the capabilities of these places to do a DNA test correctly. How can you prove that the info they have given you is correct? Or do they just fill it in with some BS to get your cash. And I'm positive that I don't trust them enough to accurately store my DNA info. And the 3rd and most important reason; I don't care.
  8. I think there are a lot of things to learn by fishing with anyone, even ones that don't humble you.
  9. That must have been my problem because I could never get one to run straight.
  10. I’ve never used the items you mentioned but I have tried various things over the years. None of them have worked as well as a Todd’s Wiggle Minnow. But if you come up with something I’d like to see it.

    What's Cooking?

I wish I would have purchased a pellet grill/smoker years ago. Our thanksgiving wasn’t until today and that’s the easiest it’s ever been. And I had the most compliments on the meat. Some people say it’s cheating, but my 10 year old Monopoly playing self would have told you, cheating is how you win! I love the data it gives. It pointless really but still fun.
  12. Boats have been around since at least 8,000 B.C. So you mean the real, real, real, old way?
  13. Calm down Grandpa. As a person that loves electronics and pretty much all new technology, I’m not a fan on the fishing side. If I was trying to make a living doing it I might change my mind.

    What's Cooking?

So far I have done a little pork roast, sausage, breakfast sausage, bologna, and the tri tip. All in about 24 hours. My wife said I can’t smoke anything tomorrow but she won’t be here!

    What's Cooking?

@BilletHeadconvinced me to get a pellet grill. Did a tri tip for dinner. My presentation is horrible but holy dog fornication that is a tasty piece of meat. And it was stupid easy. Embarrassingly easy.
  16. I’ve used some 1,000 dollar rods. My 200 & 300 rods work just as good as those for me. But don’t kid yourself, Epic does not have the name that Sage does.

    Chiefs

The cowboys are going nowhere with Dak.
  18. So it’s a strike indicator for those that are too snobby to actually admit they use a strike indicator?
  19. Says January 1941.
  20. Let's see...I was born in 69 so that makes you......f'ing OLD.
  21. I drove to China, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to catch a stinking bass. (It was a really nice bass though) Little over 1,000 miles. I could go farther if anyone is ready. Driving has never bothered me. Used to leave Springfield for Lake Fork on Friday after I got off work. Fish all day Saturday, half day Sunday, and then drive home. We would do that 10 0r 15 times a year. One day I will retire and try to put a million miles on some poor vehicle. There is no fish too far. The only thing holding me back is cash.
  22. I've had that happen many times in a bassboat. It's not a good feeling. Don't want to try that in a paddle boat.
  23. I got tossed form the boat one cold nasty day in February on Lake Fork. We were way back in a creek with a lot of standing timber. Once I got back in the boat I jumped down behind the steering wheel while my dad secured everything in the boat. He then asked me to jump up so he could drive us back to the ramp which was 5 to 7 miles away. Most people would believe he was doing this so I could just try to stay warm, but in reality he was only looking out for himself. He was afraid of the ride I was going to give him coming out of that creek. And he was correct. Luckily the weather was so bad that there weren't a lot of people up in there because once I got pops all secured we came out of that creek in a hurry. I'm not dangerous, I never hit anything, but those boating lanes on that lake aren't always for the faint of heart. But I was back at the truck in record time!
  24. I was lucky enough to have a shirt ruined by that guy, his sledge-o-matic, and a can of yams. Me and a buddy left that show dripping wet.
  25. I was given a worksharp a few years ago. I love that thing.
