  1. I'm hoping a lot more people start to feel the same way. The biggest issue is that we are getting less walk-in access. There will never be any more than what there is today.
  2. And I know it’s a little further out but I’ve heard good things about Sooner.
  3. I like Keystone. Granted that was a lifetime ago but I liked it. I would try that before giving up.
  4. My favorite lake. Spring is always a toss up. But when you hit it right you get big rewards. Never saw any gators there myself except in pics but I never ventured very car away from Birch or the Mustangs.
  5. In small town Oklahoma, when you stepped off the bus for an away football game you had on a button up shirt, a nice pair of jeans, and cowboy boots. I don’t know if those were the official rules, but when your mascot is Outlaw you do it. I wore cowboy boots a lot when I was younger and they always seemed pretty comfortable.
  6. 72 used to my cruising speed from spot to spot. I was never really in a hurry I just like going fast in/on everything. There’s a reason I don’t own a motorcycle.
  7. Late Saturday night I get a text from a good friend asking if I could possibly take some pics on Sunday. Sure why not, I'm going to have to do it at sometime. Sunday around 11am I get another text asking what time works for me. I of course just said whenever. 11:20 I get the when text. 11:45 at the high school. Panic Mode!!
  8. Making money is the most important thing.
  9. There has never ever been any fish there.
  10. Nice boat. That's moving right along at a decent speed.
  11. I bought a fly rod, reel, and line from a shop out west that belongs to a friend of a friend. He went to dinner with us one night and said he would give me a smoking deal. When I received everything the line was wrong. I called him to see if we could swap and he told me that he would not only send me the correct line but he would send it to me and credit my card for the other line. Sweet. When I got my credit card statement it showed he had credited me for the line and the rod and reel. I called him again and told him that there was a mistake and when I explained it to him he asked me what was I complaining about. Told me not to worry about it and enjoy it. That was a smoking deal.
  12. I'm pretty sure that's what was said on the news.
  13. Then you have zero business carrying a gun on you.
  14. I’ve driven past this spot a hundred times and a lot of you have too. It’s an interesting looking little area but I’ve only even seen a few puddles at most. Today there was enough water to make a small waterfall.
  15. Weird. I haven't carried a gun my whole 52 years and haven't had either of those. Just lucky I guess. Of course in those years I have had a gun pointed at me twice. Both those guys took a whoopin. If you want to point it at me you better just go ahead and blow my head off while you have the chance.
  16. Hard pass.
  17. Geez I hope the water goes down a bit. Saw a couple of bass boats above Orleans today. But with another inch or two on the way it doesn’t look good.
  18. Nice job! It will get better as it warms up.
  19. While a good leader does make for a smoother cast, I usually just grab a straight piece of mono or flouro. Something 6 to 10 lb test. And for the love of Bigfoot, if you or anyone is going to be fly fishing for bass you have to learn to skate a fly across the top of a run or a tail out. You aren’t going to catch a bunch of big fish, and the hookup ratio absolutely sucks, but you just aren’t going to have any more fun than that. Period.
  20. Lacquer? What century are you from? It’s been a minute since we have had lacquer readily available in the automotive industry. But if you go with an automotive coating they are more durable and easier to deal with these days.
  21. I don’t remember what I did to mine but I got rid of that noise. I don’t mind a little click either but those things are annoying. The best cure for was when I stuck it a box and forgot about it.
  22. If it has paint in it you just need to clean it really well, scuff up the surface, clean again, and then you can topcoat it. I would still use a good primer on it and any spots or pieces that are bare metal will need a primer designed for bare metal. And you will also need to clean and scuff those areas as well. The key is getting the surface really clean and smooth. And using a primer to make everything a uniform color and give the paint a nice base to adhere to.
  23. Me either. I almost made a rudeass comment about it but it was only because I hate them so much.
