  3. I caught a 6lb smallie on Pickwick years ago on a deerhair jig I tied 20 years ago on a November morning. It was a pig ,very fat.
  4. Fished Bennett over the weekend and saw 4 people fishing tube jigs and plastic trout worms at the rock hole in zone 2.Told all of them that it was illegal lure in that zone. Two of them said they did not know that and changed lures. One old lady said she has been fishing trout worms for the last 5 years in zone 2.Said she did not know that was illegal.Funny thing is she just kept fishing even though her luck might be running out as far as not being ticketed.i never see an agent, they could clean house any day of the week by writing tickets.

  11. Nice concise report Phil.I will be down for three days starting Tuesday.
  12. hey Wrench I bet those big bluegill might be eating boaters that run into bluffs.
  13. 7x is pretty fine tippet material.I use 6x 0r 5x trouthunter flourocarbon tippet most of the time with excellent results.I usually tie on a 18-24 inch piece with a surgeons knot to my leader.Try stripping a size 8-10 wooly bugger in olive ,brown or black with little or no flow, the fish will wack them on taney.soft hackles also work well with an orange or red body in size 14-18.Try casting out from the boat and let it swing in the current till it is almost downstream from you and strip every once in a while, they will really smack it .I like to use a sink tip line or a full sinking line to get those flies down in the water column with a 4 or five foot tippet in 5 x. you can buy a sinking leader 10-15 feet with loops and attach it to your regular flyline loop so you don't need a extra spool Phil can show you how
  14. can't use a jig with marabou and plastic worm attached in zone 3, you can use a bare jighead with a worm in zone 3
  15. I know a couple a guys that can help you out Wrench
  16. I don't spend my limited time on earth worrying about such matters
  17. The Mo.State Hwy Patrol is always cruising through Bssp. They don't charge an entrance fee.More enforcement might discourage some from coming to the park
  18. I see this same stuff all the time everywhere I fish, not just the trout parks. It amazes me that people think they can do anything they like.i politely tell them that are not playing by the rules. If that doesn't work then I call the proper authorities.I try not to get all worked up so it ruins my day.I would think more enforcement at Bennett would be beneficial but then would that hurt the local take at the gate.
  19. this topic is like religious beliefs each to his own arguments.I own several guns and love to deer hunt, never saw the need for large clips of ammo to get the job done at hand. One shot one kill.Got to agree with Wrench on this one.How about we just stop talking about these sob"s that are doing all these shootings, when there is no coverage I bet there will be a lot fewer of them.
  20. Rayburn is one big lake to find a fish that size, nice job
  21. I avoid all the big lakes on all warm weather Holidays. That way I am not tempted at thinning out the gene pool
  22. are you saying he rarely puts a fish in the boat.HaHa
  23. Hey Ness did you get my check for the balance on the postage fees?
