If I'm by myself I'll do a lot of parallel casting over the front of the boat, but when there's someone else in the boat it will be more staying out deep and casting towards the shore.

Met my buddy Jeb at the ramp at 0730 and off we went. It was 26 when we launched and it took a long time to get above freezing, made for lots of fun clearing ice out of guides. However, they were biting right away, we caught them dragging 2.8 keitechs very slowly along the bottom and on ned rigs, the fish we caught were deep for the most part, 10-25 FOW. We caught 18 total, biggest was a 2.5 largemouth. Lots of spots as usual, nice fat fish, we didn't measure any, but several of them were obvious keepers. Also caught yet another 16" walleye. WT 41 and the bass were really sluggish. Very few bites were of the thump variety, mainly rod-tip load ups. Bite slowed abut 11 AM and we were back at the ramp not long after 1 PM.

I think the main issue with the slip bobber on the float-n-fly is that if you want to slowly swim the jig, it will pull up to the bobber once you start retrieving it. Fixed bobber the jig will stay at depth as you swim it.

Looks like one of those muskies got a little revenge on you. 😃 Never have caught one, there was a lake in Washington state that had some tiger musky, fished it a couple of times and one follow and that was my one and only lifetime musky encounter. I have to bite the bullet one of these days and get up to the north for a musky trip.

It is always fun the watch the cork disappear.

I have been to the Rock HOF myself, was stuck there for a weekend on a business trip, can't say I was enthused by the Rock HOF.

That made me curious as to what happened to that bat, and I found out it now resides in Cooperstown. Ever been there? I haven't and I plan to go there one of these days.

My first time at a Major League Baseball game was at Crosley field in Cincinnati. I was around 10 years old at the time, a baseball fan, used to listen to the Reds games on my transistor radio (remember those?), and just seeing the size of the stadium, the crowd, the lights (it was a night game), it was quite an experience for a 10 year old. I went down the the railing by the Reds dugout, joined the other 30 or so kids there yelling for autographs, I got Johnny Bench and I think it was Gary Nolan's autographs on the game program. Kept that program for years, but unfortunately they were in pencil and they faded away to nothing. We were living in Dayton Ohio at the time and coincidentally that was when the Dayton Flyers made it to the finals in the NCAA tourney only to be crushed by UCLA where Lew Alcindor was playing at the time. Used to listen to those games on my radio too. Another Dayton sports memory is sitting cross legged in front of the black and white TV and watching Bart Starr sneak in for the TD in the "Ice Bowl".

My opinion, at this stage in their careers, Mahomes is a much better QB. Brady still has a relatively strong arm, but he is having accuracy issues. Brady is also immobile in the pocket, if the Chiefs pass rush can get to him, he's not going to get away by scrambling. I don't know that there will be much of a home field advantage, SB's tickets get spread across a pretty broad range of fans, I would think there will be some KC fans making the trek too, but I don't know how much the COVID restrictions will hamper KC fans.

They do have some talent. Odds makers have it relatively close, but it seems to me that KC should walk all over the Bucs.

Lots of good hoops to watch today. Alabama (man did they sneak up in the rankings) vs OK, KS vs Tenn., MO and TCU, and AR vs OK State.

Seems they ought to be at least 7 over the Bucs, if I had a neighborhood bookie I might throw down $5 on the Chefs beating that spread. But maybe things are getting a little tighter with Fisher out and AB set to play for the Bucs.

Here's one I took from the guides boat out of Sitka AK, the sea was angry that day so we had to fish in the inside passage which runs up the coast and is a highway for small boats moving along the coast because it is sheltered from the open ocean. We only caught a couple of silvers that day.
