  1. Seems to be a weird year. Smallmouth on Beaver yesterday were in less than 10 FOW. They had not appeared to have spawned yet, but I am sure some have.
  2. Photo tip for the micro fishers:
  3. Sorry to hear that. That's a great smallmouth he's holding!
  4. Another cold morning, still feels like winter out there at least early in the AM it does. We threw Keitechs and some of Dutch's home made paddle tails all morning. One of those days where you'd pick up one or two and then fish for another 15 minutes without a bite. I'd say most of our bites were in 5-10 feet of water, with a few deeper. We caught a couple dozen bass, mostly smallmouth, 5 of them were keeper sized. Dutch caught a fat spotted bass that we estimated to be at least 2.5 lbs. That was our biggest bass. Caught a couple of walleye and a 3 lb. striper. There was some top water striper activity early. Wind really started blowing around 9 AM, that made things a lot more challenging.
  5. Hey Steve - I'm not familiar with that area myself. I'm going to give a rough estimate of about 5 miles from the Kings to Campbell point. Dunno about beaching. Maybe if Mr. Bill sees this he can give you a better read on things. @Bill Babler
  6. I have a bunch of golf balls, I pick them up when walking on a trail that runs by couple of greens. They are used, some in great shape, some not, but I have more than I'll ever need. If any of you are golfers and want some, let me know and I'll bring them to the tourney. Free, I didn't pay anything for them.
  7. Closest I've been fishing to where you're at is the Potomac up by Harpers Ferry, but that's probably further than you'd want to drive. It's been 40+ years, but there used to be plenty of smallmouth, lots of access and wadeable water on the Maryland side.
  8. It is not uncommon to be fishing on that lake and hear a shot or two close by. Have not yet had anything come zipping, or cracking by me.
  9. Congrats on a great time with your dad!
  10. Good to see you out and about!
  11. When Dutch and I fished Friday out of Cape Fair, there were a lot of boats. I think I remember catching 3 or 4 that had hook holes or scars. It's amazing that the lake still fishes decent when you consider the never ending rain of lures upon these fish.
  12. Might have to do one someday. I'm thinking Gulf, redfish, seatrout, drum, that sort of stuff.
  13. As always had a great time fishing with Dutch. Here's a pic of his 4 lber. He caught it right off the bat and set the bar high.
  14. Just thought of Greg Bohannon. Never have fished with him myself. Beaver Lake Largemouth Bass Guide | Crappie - Greg Bohannan
  15. Beat Champ to the local tackle shop and snagged one before Champ showed up and cleaned the place out.
  16. There just doesn't seem to be a lot of bass guides on Beaver. Striper guides all over the place, but few bass guides. You could stop by HLS and ask if they have any recommendations.
  17. That's some good fishing!
  18. Those are some nice fish Curtis!
  19. Is that you offering them for $150 on Ebay?😃
  20. We were talking glide baits a few weeks ago, and yesterday I got an "in-stock" email from TW that these gliders were in stock at TW. I ordered two of them, don't know if I will get them as they showed sold out last I checked. We'll see, I am waiting on the shipping confirmation. Amazing how fast they sold out.
  21. It is there to be had. State seeks big fish tales for tiger trout record - News (agfc.com)
  22. You guys done good!
