  1. My 2 cents on the whites back there is that they come in on a good rain, hang around for a few days then vamoose. If this system that is coming through tonight dumps some rain , it may be worth going back there. The backs of some of the other coves would be worth checking out too.
  2. Wow, going to be some fat trout.
  3. Please, no more crank bait suggestions, I have more than enough...😀
  4. Wired2Fish does one of these every year. It's getting harder to fool people.
  5. And the season has started. Got the DVR set to record the Royals today.
  6. Going to be a lot of miffed people that have spent the $$$ for FFS. 12 States to Ban Use of Livescope on State Fisheries - Wired2Fish
  7. No boating for me yesterday, way too windy.
  8. I'd take a 1/2 dozen smallies and a couple of nice Walters from the bank. Hopefully they got everybody safely out of the sailboat.
  9. I didn't even think about going fishing yesterday. You guys are tougher than me.
  10. Had a power glitch here yesterday too. It was just a brief on/off deal. Luckily for this area, the weather wasn't organized when it passed through here like it got organized when it moved further east. Just a lot of high wind.
  11. I'd say well past post spawn, once they move off the banks. I always used Bandit 300's. White, Pink or bubblegum, anything but black unless you want to catch walleye and bass, black is good for that. My uncle fishes 300's in the Miss, crappie factories, they bite them all summer there too.
  12. Big ol' walter, Congrats!
  13. I have driven by that place a couple of times in the past, never had time to stop, but it was kinda neat to see it by the interstate in the middle of nowhere Nebraska. The Cabelas in Rodgers has a pretty decent selection of bass stuff, I rarely go in there as I order online a lot and if I need something in a hurry, Hook, Line, and Sinker is close and has a pretty good selection too.
  14. There's a few roaming around the Indian Creek area, I know someone that caught 2 last weekend there, but I don't know if there are enough there to target them. They should start showing up in force in the lower lake by May. Point 5 area should start seeing some too.
  15. Indian Creek tends to get less pressure than the mid lake area. More smallmouth on average. Not quite as much recreational traffic. Don't have to deal with the metro area traffic on the way to the lake either. If I was a die-hard tourney bass fisherman, or spent a lot of time crappie fishing, I'd spend more time mid-lake. It is a bit tougher to fish the lower end of the lake and getting a limit of 5 big bass is a challenge, but if that is not your objective, and you like to fish just for the fishing, Indian Creek and that whole end of the lake has lots of opportunity. Yesterday I saw only 2 other fishing boats. No one was ever even close to me fishing, felt like I had the whole area to myself. Solitude is tough to find these days. Once the camp grounds open it gets a lot busier. A lot of striper fishermen start showing up too. Which is another thing about that area, it can have some great top water fishing for stripers once May rolls around.
  16. It was indeed a nice day. Eagles were flying, turkeys were gobbling, trees are starting to bloom. Looks like the weather is going to go bad for several days once again, grrrr....
  17. I have the baits figured out, now I am focused on figuring out where they caught those fish. I rented some camera time on a Chinese "weather balloon" that was scheduled to float over Table Rock about the same time Bill & his buddy were fishing. Just waiting for the photos to download, I should have it figured out by this afternoon.
  18. Cold start to the day, Old Man Winter is hanging in there. Caught fish in the back of a couple of coves that had shad. Caught them on the 2.8 Keitech. Didn't catch a bunch, but had 5 solid keepers and 4 of them were largemouth. I typically don't catch many largemouth on this end of the lake, but today I found a few. They were chasing shad and some would come up on top, couldn't get bit with a top water, but they'd hit a Keitech if you go it on them quickly. Caught a couple of big white bass too. Did have some periods of no catching going down the bank, caught a few smallies doing that that were few and far between. WT 49-51
  19. A lot of wood out there, what a mess. The lake level is now dropping, the mystery is in how long the Corps will keep spilling water. Every summer/fall a lot of wood gets burned from property owners cleaning up the wood that floated in. Going to be some burning going on this year too. Might be a run on hot dogs and marshmallows in the local stores this summer. 😃
  20. Man what a tourney. No one left for me to root for. I bet there is not one person in the country that had these 4 teams in their final 4 bracket.
  21. Wow, that looks like one of those log rafts they used to float down the rivers in the old days.
  22. Wow, as usual, some great fish!
  23. Yeah, I really hate mystery fish. 😡 Could've been a drum, I catch one or two a year in that area, they typically really whack a lure. Sadly, I'll never know. @Johnsfolly
  24. Some great fish pics, keep them coming!
