  1. 22's are always fun. Bought a little Ruger LCP 2 22lr last weekend. Amazingly good shooter. You should enjoy a nice 1911 22. I have a Marvel Conversion for my Full Size 45 Acp that shoots the 22 Lr with a Colt Ace Mag. Nice shooting rig. I picked up a Walther 22 PPK for my Christmas present this year. Shot my Uncles when I was a kid and wanted another ever since. Walther is making them again.
  2. Seriously, you don't have one???
  3. You know, I launched in front of a new MDC Agent at Whitten last year amongst the crowd camped making meth on the side. I was licensed MO in motor vehicle and had a non licensed trailer with a TN registration on the boat. Had a TN resident in command seat of the boat. MDC agent made small talk and shot up river. Came back by and waved an hour later. Did not even check for legality. Most run the Tohatsu that is rated at 25 at the jet, or more. But, if I was running a 40/28, I would be checked. The old agent nailed me one time on a weekend. We were in a square back canoe with a little 5 hp on it and wishing we had never launched on a weekend. Fighting drunks and Jet Boats all day, we were beached below a swift run eating lunch holding on to the side of the canoe. Agent came up thru the crowd and wanted to see our license. I had forgot to sign the trout stamp and drew a warning. All of the other crap going on around us. Then he proceeded to power up and almost flipped the canoe over in the water from the wake. Almost knocked my S&W 686 off the seat into the water.
  4. Working on that. Did not pose an issue with the 4 hp and 5 mile drive to the lake he had.
  5. And as the operator of a boat, you assume the role of a Captain. Its an ole term that makes you responsible for all aboard the ship. The man at the motor controls it all. I have put my input in from the back seat many times as a precaution and have lived thru the operators decisions with a few bumps and bruises..
  6. Pretty well what I gathered from the reports. Having a hard time wrapping my head around the whole thing. But, its a tragedy. It could have been avoided in so many ways. As Paul Harvey used to report, I would like to see the "rest of the story". Maybe it will come out later on this season while I am down there.
  7. I know it was a freak accident, it has happened in the past. Cell phone calls for help? If the were in the middle of it, too many open gates to get to side with slack water? Trying to fish and win a tourney and did not realize the danger? I guess we will never know more than what we see. Moral of the story, stay clear of big dams when spilling or generating.
  8. NFS rules, sticker and registration must say 25 up or less. It's a Scenic Riverways thing, for Current River above Two Rivers and Jack's Fork also.
  9. I have some aluminum from another project that should bolt up and raise the transom. The fire extinguisher has a whistle attached. Old guy was gonna make the wife put out the tires.
  10. I am working on the same project. Need a jet boat, but restricted to 25 hp because I want to use it on the 11 pt. I want it light enough to get it off when I run shallow, tough enough to take the abuse, comfortable enough to fish out of, stable to keep my ole butt from falling out, easy to pull, and set up the way I like to fish out of a boat. I just bought a nice little Express 1546 and am going to stick a tiller jet on it. My polishing a turd project, but, my turd is still in the stomach. This boat is 20 years old and only went back in forth to a small lake all of its life. Showroom new and still babied. Came with a little Johnson 4 hp motor too.
  11. Are you watching outside waiting for a car to pull out in front of someone. About the same chance...
  12. There was shots of the three before they went over, not published. It was confirmed that they were in the boat before it went over the gate. I wonder if they had jackets on. Not that it would have helped in the turbulence. But I guess nobody watching and no chance of shutting the gate.
  13. Well, they recovered the last body today near the Shiloh Military site. They found the first one 2 days ago, one yesterday, and the third today. Its about 5 river miles downstream from the dam and about a third of the way to where the boat was found. The families can now have some closure. Final body recovered.
  14. Ma Ma Ma, My Corona! I think that was a song when I was younger...... Anyone getting skeered yet?? Its the flu. Thank God, something finally got someone to wash their filthy hands. And I can walk thru Wally World and it smells better.....
  15. Sqeezins burns the gut too. Never thought of using popcorn for that.
  16. We run a 60/40 on a 08 Tracker Panfish 17. Less weight than that boat with all of the added decks and seats. Ours will do around 20-25 mph and works well enough to fish river or lake with. But, its a bear if you ever run too shallow. Have to muscle it off. I am guessing that boat weighs much more. Worried about the stainless prop, don't know where that fits on a jet. Maybe he meant impeller when he typed the ad. Semi V cuts wake better and takes a turn without sliding out.
  17. It looks like a 4 stroke, have to change the oil and filter every year. New fuel filter at the same time. Crowbar or long heavy screwdriver for rocks and stuff. Make sure the water keeps flowing out the pee hole.
  18. A fifty lb bag of popcorn would last me...I doubt if I have eat 50 lbs of popcorn in my life. Thats alot of popcorn. A handful goes a long way.
  19. Why bother canning dry goods? They are stable in the package they ship in for several years. Just put them in a dry pantry. I see the need for canning them if you brought them out of a garden un packaged
  20. Did you squeeze off a shot at one?
  21. Cornovirus came from some kind of animal, it may cross back and affect the 6" bluegills and have a big die off. Better get skeered and run out and stock up.
  22. Several. Dr visits are every 6 months now, take him a gallon each time I go up. Sold some to family and friends and gifted a bunch. Most went to sugar pretty fast this year, something about the sugar content made it crystalize fast. Looks like all hives at house are still alive. Still have 14 hives.
  23. Somebody needs a road trip. Sounds like a free boat to check out and a fishing trip..............
  24. I have bundles of tackle as backup. Mostly stuff that I bought extras of last year to get me thru the season. But they will probably want something new this year and all of that old stuff will be useless. I have lots of stuff to make my own, but that takes time. Good thing I will be on lock down soon when Corona beers hit here. Maybe I can catch up.....
  25. Nothing popped up yet in raised bed yet. Jumped the gun. Meanwhile, cleaned out 4 bee hives that failed this winter. I knew those warm spells would get a few.
