  1. If they were quiet and quit, you might not notice that you are crashing. As any boat mechanic knows, the sound is muffled by the water exhaust, not mufflers. Sound travels slower thru liquid than it does thru air. They all have the same open exhaust. Boats are loud running out of water.
  2. Looks like a fun one to toss. People fish 2 fly rigs all the time and it has been conventional. I find them a PITA to cast. But I hate tossing an A rig with a baitcaster also. But the system works at times. Kudos for innovation. Fly tying needs evolution to survive.
  3. Where is Hutch? Seriously, this may be a turning point in history in our lives. Russia losing to a small country military is a big thing. And the free media of the internet letting it loose.

    An Idea

And being able to kill off tons of "critters" protecting your crops is fun.
  5. Fly Fishers are never going to be main stream famous. Brad Pitt will never be remembered for "shadow casting" or whatever he did on "A River Runs Thru It". But it was a good flick. Never met Lee Wulff, but I did see Joan one time. Most of the Orvis crew but none of the Perkins. Chuck and Sharon, Charlie Reading, Tom Hargrove, Ed and Bob Story, even seen Phil Lilley a time or two. All have done work for the sport, but will never be big stars. I wanted to meet Dave Whitlock. His style has been great and his support of the area has been the same. I always enjoyed his books. The last article I read was about his touring days out west with his sons in the Heyday of the fishing before the crowds landed.
  6. Probably a built in wheel to drag it across boat ramp on it.
  7. We quit cutting trees, don't want to stir up global warming. The lump charcoal I found last year had bricks as big as my arm and some dust mixed in. Poor quality, but all made here by meth heads in Misery..
  8. I bet they still catch fish....
  9. Sevin washes out, you should be fine. Its good for bugs.
  10. It has been a source of knowledge and friendship for me also. I have crossed paths with may online from here.
  11. Depends on where you buy them. I still find Mason and Walmart generics with the 2 part lid.
  12. Google Analytics probably guess there are a bunch of dirty minded old men on here that may be turned on by whatever she has under those stripes and presents those ads. I bet its 2 midgets wrestling each other.
  13. Kinda dangerous, starts when you put the gas to it. Most small engines require a yank or a starter. I am not mowing till at least knee high. Sooner you start, longer you have to mow. And the $5 gas this season.
  14. I have over 366k on a Toyota torsion system and it still works fine. Check for rusty components and replace if needed. Torsion bars and springs wear out connecting points long before the bar or spring will break.
  15. It was a thing here for a season or two, then shut down. Arkansas had it also. Just never had the urge, don't eat catfish either much.
  16. Saw this article on Fishing Tackle Retailer for Powerbait Noodling Gloves. I have fished many ways, but I am not sticking a scented glove on and poking it into a hole for a big cat to chomp onto. One size fits all and several colors of Green Pumpkin • Chartreuse • Firecraw • Bruised • White-Tail. I guess the bruised color imitates the last guy that stuck his hand in there and the fish thinks "well, if he is dumb enough to do it again". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4MLekqKT5U
  17. I have used Squizzers for a long time and been happy with them. Stand up on bench to grab onto or swing off a finger. https://www.micromark.com/Squizzers
  18. I never really believe anything I see on the net.
  19. Solar has been pretty useless the last few weeks, too many clouds.
  20. Getting about to the end of the cold crop planting season. Should start warming up soon. Snow peas, lettuce are up. Planted 4 brussel sprout sets. Strawberries are greening up fine. This rain was needed on beds.
  21. Saving fuel this weekend. Looks like high waters again across the state.
  22. Maybe harness the energy of the runners at the border on a treadmill and convert to electrical power? Over a million crossings so far this year, going to surpass last years record.
  23. For years, we never went past 11 Pt. Then one day, it was blown out and we found Spring River at Thayer. We got bored with that and hit the Strawberry, the Warm Fork of the Spring, then the White River tailwaters at Norfork and Bull Shoals, then Crooked Creek. We only made one exploratory trip to the NFOW during that time. Never gave it more than that. Was going the summer that Cancer came back. Finally made it back in fall of 2020 to find it ruined by floods and ended up on Table Rock and Taney. I am still going, sometime soon.....
  24. Seems like low water was key. https://www.kfvs12.com/2022/03/28/low-water-levels-are-concern-across-ozarks-after-deaths-2-fishermen/ I was there two years ago, high water covered the ramp and lower camp sites. They have just opened back up for business. It's been on my list for a spring or fall trip in jet boat. Never see many reports on here about the area.
  25. Fun in cold foggy weather too. Road salt does not work on that design.
