    Today's sammich

Yuck, tartar sauce ruins the flavor of good fish. The breading should have been enough. Good looking sandwich.
  2. My old glass rods were made by Heddon and Herters. Fun to fish. I like the slow actions anyway.
  3. America made knives are getting harder to find. Gerber still makes them here, at least some of them. Leatherman too for the most part. Japanese steel is fairly good, I do own a few Cold Steel knives also. Lynn Thompson came up with some good designs. It was my first tanto blade. Great for piercing and strong blade, but poor for utility. I have a SRK that I like, one of the older carbon steel ones. Blackie Collins made many good designs and they were incorporated by Gerber. A G Russell out of NE Ark is a great designer and supplier. I love the local guys also. This guy makes some nice ones. https://www.facebook.com/criswellholler/
  4. Not really, I am still a wannabe collector. I wanna few more.
  5. I have been a collector of Gerber and Leatherman for years. Daily carry is a Leatherman Folder, Leatherman Wave, and a little Buck Stockman. But I have a few to choose from. And this is from a few years ago. I have added more since. Just got beat out on an old black Leatherman Supertool on Ebay while I was typing this.
  6. I used a live minnow on a single hook with a treble hook trailer hook about 4" down floating under a bobber. They grab the minnow, the hook set pops the treble into the jaw to hook them. They don't inhale bait, they snap it sideways with teeth. Hard to hook them.
  7. If you have to pump a round into the chamber, it's probably too late.
  8. Back to the OP, the Gerber Strongarm is my choice. USA made, sturdy and thru tang blade, functional design and grippy handle. Sturdy sheath with a few ways to attach. https://www.gerbergear.com/en-us/shop/knives/all-knives/strongarm-coyote-brown-plain-edge-30-001058 It replaced the Gerber LMF 2 that I had before. The LMF became more collectable and this one is almost the same design. LMF 2 was designed for military use. https://www.bladehq.com/cat--Gerber-LMF--899
  9. I think the correct term of "knife fight" involves two people with knives. You were assaulted with a knife. A knife can be used in self defense if someone is in the right frame of mind to realize that he has been cut. But it takes alot of cutting to make it lethal. And they have to know that they have been cut to stop the attack. Drugs normally hamper that. Guns are better stoppers.
  10. I am old enough the numbers were still on rotary phones. Doubt if any ring thru any more.
  11. What would you need a larger one for? That one still has factory edge and looks unused.
  12. Probably registered in MS. Was on top of the boat when he put the M on.
  13. Probably a horse guy grading it.
  14. Lots of interesting things shoved into one building. Nice collection. I see the Reelfoot boat really caught your attention. It was used a long time on the lake. Reelfoot dam has a small display and a raptor park there. TN played a big part in the WW2, many airstrips for training and POW camps along with Fort Campbell, Milan Arsenal, and Oak Ridge. Oak Ridge made the fuel for Fatman and Little Boy. West TN, SE MO, and NE Ark had many airstrips for pilot training due to the flat terrain.
  15. Nice little place. I have been wanting to take the Grandkid down since my buddy talked it up. It has local history, a huge collection of Indian Artifacts from the area. War museum from the Civil War to Desert Storm. Many tanks, helicopters, planes, even Fat Man and Little Boy. Several Torpedos and missles. Natural History, and some culture. A few theaters you can watch special exhibits in for a fee. Reasonable food and drink. The grounds have several different areas to walk thru all around a man made stream. Alot of effort into this place, its a day trip for sure. https://discoveryparkofamerica.com/
  16. Probably would have gotten there quicker if it was attached to the boat...
  17. What do you do in Missouri when the heat index is hitting over 115? Head south to Tennessee to better climate. Loaded up the truck and ended up in Union City on the outskirts of Reelfoot Lake. The fish were kinda thin. Turtles and other creatures had been suffering from drought. There were herons from another world. Some of the critters looked kinda mean, but not fed well. All bones... Like the last trip, there was some space travel things. Even Angels. The locals had old and new building structures scattered about the area. No electric vehicles. Discovery Park of America. Nice little air conditioned Museum that offered 3 hours of inside stuff, or more and 80 acres of outside stuff.
  18. Looks pretty jacked up. One of our suppliers shut down also by Earth City. It dumped a flood.
  19. Still failing here Sorry, an unknown server error occurred when uploading this file. (Error code: 20220415_151854.jpg could not be saved.)
  20. Where are you going to find a new rig for 40k, certainly nothing that will pull more than a jetski on an aluminum trailer. The cameras do make it easy to get it on the ball.
  21. The fish in the pool have probably seen too many lures.....
  22. Beads, wire, and real rabbit fur also. A few feathers, paint, craft foam, and markers. Flash stuff, chenille, and other assorted things. Nice storage boxes for hooks and beads too.
  23. Pulled about 25 gallons honey off three hives this week. 4 gallon going to a brewmeister for beer or liquor. Hive beetles were working hard on one set of supers in 4th hive, I fed it back to all of the bees. It's a dearth around here, bees coming from all directions to clean my super frames. They can smell open honey from miles away this time of year.
  24. Since my round, I keep sunlight to a minimum. It hits my arms and face. I wear nylon quick dry pants now in the boat while wading, no shorts. Kayaks, I dose anything up with sunscreen. Big floppy hat with a drop down for the neck. My skin is crap, toasted by many years in the sun and may need some dermo attention. But, with all of the radiation from the CT, PET, and X Ray Machines in the 4 year battle with cancer, topped off with intense radiation to the head and neck, I tend to err to the safe side.
  25. Good looking camp. That bear had a funny toothless looking grin.
