Better looking crew than 2018. https://forums.ozarkanglers.com/topic/62927-reel-recovery-2018/#comment-539334 We had some guys that had been thru some rough stuff. I had tried back in Feb to get Laker67 into one of these trips. Then tonite, I see that thread. Many of the members here have dealt with the Big C, along with many friends. Its a rough adventure. Myself and my cousin Rusty are both out 5 years now and breathing a little sigh of relief. But many have passed on. Live well, Fish on.

I never met the man, but we were on contact here. His battle with the cancer was getting rough and he was looking for hope. We all end up in a better place than here on earth. We enjoy it while we are here, sometimes. But, its pretty rough at times. Be well, Fish on. Laker67

I thought there were trout in Bryant Creek

Yep, the gas thieves will start back up like the late 70's. I remember loosing tanks of it many times. Just started driving and was parking my tank side against the white board fence into our yard. We were living along a blacktop road then after Mom and Dad got the divorce. One nite, heard a car door slam and the car left off. It stopped down the road in the curve. I grabbed the 20 gauge and Mom hit the lights. I saw one running off into the woods and I shot high. His buddy took off and left him. He came back later on and picked him up. Last tank of gas I lost. Now days, they are too stupid to remember the next night what happened to them. Its only going to get worse. We are entering the second year of the new Carter admin. And I don't see a Reagan on the horizon. And I don't think Putin is going to agree to a SALT 3.

New PB spotted bass on the Rock. Any ideas on weight

Naa, MDC appreciates all feedback. They just do what they want to anyway. -
Wasn't there an issue with those duck boat things down there in a storm? Who would launch a venture in crafts like that waiting for a law suit?

Nice afternoon when I got off work. I dived into the bees and did some much needed chores. Recent rains and bad weather had put things off some. But the things I did a few weeks back worked and the hives were even stronger. I cleaned out the bee shed and arranged the equipment for the coming season. Took inventory on what is there and what needs repair. Suited up and lit the smoker. Started on the weak hive. I had shrunk them down to one box hoping to make them stronger. It worked, they had built up and needed more room, added another box to them to keep on building. Its on the far left with spare equipment on the same stand to the right. The remaining 3 hives were rocking, I added honey supers to give them room to keep on growing. Hive boxes are getting stacked higher than I like to work them. A honey super weighs about 40-50 lbs filled with bees. Its a pain to move one of them above chest high. I am going to break those down soon to make splits for a spare hive for me and one for a new beekeeper. Hung up a Scion with the sock attachment idea that I found on the net, alternative to what @billethead uses. Doped some Lemongrass essential oils on it for bait. Used some scrap lumber, a eyelet and some paracord. Easier than hoisting a box that weighs 30 lbs up the tree on a ladder and then getting it down full of bees. Some big ole bug eyed drones died in the process. For some reason, the hives are making alot of worthless drone brood this year. Drones are males that only have a purpose, go out and breed a new queen. It only takes a handful, but my hives have been putting them in every crack. Drone brood needs a bigger cell, so they build them outside of the normal comb. Varroa mites like them also, so killing the drone comb is a double bonus when working the hives. Drones tend to eat more and not do anything but fly out and breed the queen. Here is a drone and some drone larva in the burr comb I removed. Its the white stuff in the combs. Finally, a few girls talking about the guy in the white suit. They are going to follow him up to the house and nail him when he comes back outside.

New State added to my fishing experience.

Why would you not want to go to Hawaii and give up a sack of money, spend 12 hours or more on a plane each way? Its a tropical paradise. I would hit Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial. Go see a live volcano. And eat bunches of fishes the locals caught for me. -
This is starting out like a Oneshot thread, in the dark for a while till something fills in the blanks. Did Phil have surgery?

Then this bunch had to better me. https://forums.ozarkanglers.com/topic/75051-best-5-smallies-went-19/

Looks like someone tried to gig it, slash mark across the back. Brave woman, lipping a flopping trout for a photo op. Gonna slash up a finger no matter what the size.

Looks like about a 5+ Kentucky to me. Looks like the state record was 7 lb 8 oz back in April 1966, so the lake has a record of making big ones. -
Nicely colored fish.
-
Take the fish off the lure before you take a pic. Keeps what you caught it on a secret from all of the internet stalkers
-
Its about the only thing the mask is good for. Never stopped a virus much. But great for pollen, dust, and mold spores.
-
Good looking healthy fish. Water quality must be in top shape this year.
-
I was thinking it was dumped in from the Big River by someone. Not me. I have fished most of the lakes. Buddy lives there for several years. The water is deep and clear enough to support them, but I doubt if they spawn or raise.

Caught this 4.25 pound smallie April 24

Nice one. -
Fast in early spring can be tricky. Going thru before the NPS opens up the sweepers and jams. In fast water.
-
Looks like healthy fins, no spawn yet. Good job.

Soy sauce makes everything taste better

All rivers are iffy in the spring. It's been a wet one this year. It's not pretty, but fishing usually good. Spring River at Mammoth may be off color, but normally floatable. Riverside Resort for cabins or camp, shuttles. No overnite floats

Watch the TV, it the only thing on anymore. Schools were closed, business let off early last week for the big rainstorm that they hollered about for 4 days. Heard one thunderclap and only run wipers for a short time. But most sheep were in basements with football helmets on.

You could have pee'd a little on the floor at Taco John's and called it "Pest Control" with the warferin in your system... Taco John's has always been better than Taco Bell. Its the Taco Tuesday place. Since real Mexican food places have started up on every corner, I seldom go to either of the fast food ones.
