  1. Like a stuck hog. I can relate with that.
  2. Don't let @Flysmalliefool you. He is there. I just seen him below that second set of falls!
  3. It really is Rick. I don't care what folks say about fishing there. We don't like we used to maybe once last season. It is so cool watching people have a good time. Makes me smile. PS we need you to go stand below trout cam and give us play by plays via this post. No sound on the trout cam. I swear I seen someone's fly box go over the dam under a fisherman. 🤪

    What's Cooking?

Something to please anyone there. I will have A slice of each of the breads and sample both pastas meatballs too. I'm not hard to please .
  7. Mine too. A good deal. We purchase our son's hunting and fishing combo for his birthday every Valentine's Day. I wish we would have done the lifetime when he was born.
  8. Great report and pictures. Thanks!
  9. But they can be teased up to catch shallow.
  10. Up here in the middle part of the state of Mo. Last Thursday daffodils around Joplin. As said in other threads bees are packing away pollen starting new broods. I lost a hive this winter. I have closed it and putting frames out for the other bees to utilize. They are all over it today. Every source of water bees are drinking it up. I love it!

    What's Cooking?

Wonderful Rick. I can only think of one think that might take that to the next level. We do a similar version of this with fresh morels added. Won't be long buddy before that happens.
  12. Oh yea! the Spring Trifecta 😉.
  13. Enjoyed going there also and even stayed there a couple times. Hand dipped ice cream was a bonus .
  14. You did just fine Daryk!
  15. Good question but I really don't think the winter temps have anything to do with it. The places we hunt seem to bloom equally every year about the same. I worry more about ground moisture and that magic temperature JD speaks of in his post. I will though watch the harvest this season and see if it changes. We are still in the edge of the drought line. Come on spring rains.
  16. Mine arrived also today. Thank you to all the tyers for doing this and kudos to @mic for hosting the swap. well done you all!
  17. Ugh thanks a bunch Ness.
  18. Yes, that is the plan at the moment JD. I have a problem. I enjoy building this type of hive in the winter. The frames too. I really don't need this many hives. I don't need to trap so many bees either, but it is fun. I have a couple friends that will welcome a hive or two. That is the plan. My friend in Collins is building two and he wants me to take care of them until he can get it figured out.
  19. Don't feel sorry for you at all.🤣 It's been stuck in my head ever since she decided to paint it on the hive. Welcome to beetles hell.
  20. Oh geez Rick. Serious condolences from us.
  21. Good luck!
  22. Thank you John. I definitely married way out of my league.
  23. Since this general chat place is the place for covering everything I want to do the 2023 bee activity. @jdmidwest is another beekeeper here. Do have any others? Last fall we went into Fall and winter with 10 active hives. Since it's warmed up I am seeing now carrying in pollen getting the season started raising new brood. These same bees are robbing the dead out hive. Guess I will let them have it while there is no nectar flow available. There was a 12th hive with too few bees to overwinter that I shook out last fall. We built two more hives this winter to add to the apiary. There will be some shifting of hives as we are going to try to put a couple in outlying areas. We are afraid that here at home we are resourced out. I keep saying we became Mrs BilletHead is as involved as I am. The beekeeping we do isn't as much hands on as typical langstroth hives. We are doing as I said before long hives more popular in Europe. Pat just finished the paint job on one last weekend. We set it in place this morning. All together now Bees all live in a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine. Will add more later. I painted the other hive. Not as creative. A couple more swarm traps about finished. Hopefully more free bees will be trapped and caught by hand.
  24. @nomolites thanks so much for sharing. Pure awesomeness!
