  1. You do know if you took my conventional tackle hybrid fishing bag and had it in the tent with you it wouldn't of went anywhere. 😁
  2. You darned right! Someone comes up with the funds and it's a done deal. I actually believe Pat would be easy to convince. Plus that nose ring is kind of kinky :). I also know for a fact never to dare Pat to try or do anything.
  3. Not only did I get updates by text of this trip here I am again looking at all these nice fish! What a deal and thank you Curt for sharing. Aren't those fish camp motels interesting? 🤪
  4. I remember him posting all the time here. Wish he would come back and keep it up,
  5. Doggone good deals .
  6. You never know what is in store for sensitive species like these natives. At least we have passionate people trying to stay on top of things. Worst of all is the bucket biologist introducing species into native streams. We now realize the damage that has been done even by good intensions.
  7. Wonderful report Ham and congrats friend. I appreciated the reports you updated throughout the day. Wish I was closer to do the recon for chasing the fish. Would be right up my alley as you know.
  8. Sorry to hear this man.
  9. The way they are cooked so you know Mr. Bee Brother. By the way I don't keep under length smallies when I eat them. Besides the eggs in the big ones are good fried! 🤣
  10. The landing outfitters. All you need for Lake Taneycomo and beyond.
  11. Spears, spear guns OK to use on smallmouth bass in Coquille River; no size or bag limit | KMTR (nbc16.com) Like how I got you to read this?
  12. Anything like this?
  13. Love to catch em and eat em. Caught a bunch at Lamar Lake Last weekend but all small. The bluegill were nice eaters though.
  14. Hot dang Jeff! Thanks for your daily adventures.
  15. Quite the introduction @Ik314, Welcome to OAF forums lots to learn here but I'm betting you will be teaching us more! Great pictures man.
  16. So Phil we are same age so your telling me we are still young? Are you my senior or junior?
  17. When Pat and I were first married we went down there and fished in a 12-foot boat and a horse and a half Neptune motor. Married in 1977. Could not even afford a camera so no pictures. Did a trip a couple years later with same boat but borrowed a three horse Martin outboard. Good grief I am getting old!
  18. I realize this JD. The three hives I came out of winter with have and did swarm multiple times and I seen swarm cells in them and knew it was all going to happen as nature requires. I let them do what they do and did not try to keep them from doing so. Now that they have seemed to get that all out of their system all hives have began to do normal summer stuff with the nectar flow. The grumpy hive in question with scattered to very little brood had some supersede cells you know the little peanut cells higher on the frames where they are trying to replace the queen that is not doing her job. I suspect this is what it going on and I gave them a frame of all stages of brood with eggs incase they need some help getting the replacement queen started. Trying to stay ahead of the game and not let the hive go to the point of not getting back to normal. Still lots of bees in there at the moment. Am I getting my thoughts across making sense?
  19. Goings on here in the BilletHead's bee yard updates. Still trapping a few swarms in traps here at home and in various places around the extended neighborhood. One of those is earmarked for a newly finished 20 frame layens. It is in a shadier spot that may or may not be more suspectable to hive beetles, but I will watch it close when I get bees in it. A new three gallon batch of Meade has been made and working. Nine pounds of honey went into it, VID_20220530_084103772.mp4 Then a lousy deal. Pat got nailed twice near her eye. I was doing a check on all nine long hives in the front yard checking for laying queens. Just making sure the virgin queens that were in caught swarms had mated and had begun laying. Eight of the hives doing fantastic and frames full of brood plus wax being drawn. The last hive I checked pretty cranky. Inside found spotty brood and very little of that. Some supersede cells none with brood in them that I could see. They might be queen less. Well Pat had been taking notes from a distance from me. A couple bees were high pitching buzz and bouncing off my hood. I told her stay back as I picked up my gear but here she came to help me and she squealed and took off but not before she was hit. Swelling down more each day but has not stopped her and today I pulled a frame of brood and eggs to put in the grumpy hive to see if they need to re queen or not and Pat helped. We have extra bees and are about to pull traps and let the rest find homes by themselves. Keep tabs on adding frames but let our hives and bees do their own things until fall and see what we have honey wise.

    What's Cooking?

Mrs. BilletHead and I did some fly rod bluegill fishing Saturday. Caught a bunch and kept 8 for a meal. Did like grandma did and left them whole instead of filleting. Love the flavor of the skin and crispy tail. Onion petals and salad. Garden lettuce has been good to us.
  21. No, I'm sorry been a few years ago. I would say since most Kayaks are sold without a title app and taxes were paid for it when bought you might need to go another route. Just call the highway patrol and since they are the water patrol, they can tell you what you need to know or just call DMV Jeff City. With the number of kayaks out there they know the deal and will answer you.
  22. Ham at work,
