    What's Cooking?

Hummmm , I like the sound of that.
  2. So, so neat Daryk. Please when you are ready to christen that pretty work of art use one of those tiny bottles of alcohol that are plastic laying all over the place. When you do the deed put it in the middle of a pool noodle. Shouldn't be a scratch on that before you go on the maiden voyage!

Just discovered something, asiago chive butter. This was store bought. We have made a few compound butters before. Good stuff. But this butter was phenomenal. Had it on a couple small pieces of sourdough toast. Then it was so good made a couple more pieces. Yum.

I can see that! Kinda like pan fried bologna. Man I like that stuff. Plain or with mayo or miracle whip on white bread. Been awhile now I have to put bologna on Pat's shopping list. Crap now I have that Oscar Mayer song in my head. You two should now, thanks a lot. " My bologna has a first name it's O S C A R, my bologna has a second name it's M A Y E R " HA!
  8. I get it, too darned 🥵.
  9. Worse are Missouri guys that believe what other Missouri guys tell them they are white cats.
  10. Have also thought about something along this line, Amazon.com : 4G LTE Cellular Security Camera Outdoor - 3MP No WiFi Solar Security Camera Wireless Outdoor, 360° Full Cover with Solar Panel, Wireless Security Camera, HD 2K+ Color Night Vision, Smart AI Detection : Electronics Don't know what subscription would be. Betting cheaper than hunting cell cam. One thing though @ness you and Kathy might want to be careful getting frisky in the back yard :).
  11. Yes, easily if you are looking for a cell cam. Then a subscription monthly. Pretty reasonable depending on how many pictures you want. Some guys just disconnect with the service part of the months they don't want pictures. I like double use as a security cam.
  12. I try to get the squirrels before the bobcat do. It shows behind the house along the timber in early morning and evening. Think she is feeding her kittens. At night she is prowling the yard. We have had a good bunny hatch and she after those too.
  13. Then go into beast mode and forget what bored you about tossing delicate stuff for trout. I don't care if it is three inches or three foot or better fish. I just like throwing flies especially chucking big stuff. Do what you like and like what you do Pete 😉. I know you can do it.
  14. I think I may of posted this before but will do again. Simply crazy!
  15. Not white cats, untwist your guts Dave.
  16. Well Keith this can go smooth like my friends above said. Or it can me a nightmare depending on the DMV you are working with. I have horror stories about the nightmare part but finally got it straightened out. One thing It took me to figure out finally is first of all call the state DMV and talk to one of the workers there. IMO the contract local DMV places are scared to death to make a mistake and are gun shy making a decision. Call the state and tell them what you have going on. I have worked with two there on two different deals and all went well including a visit from a Highway patrolman to look over a flatbottom boat that never had taxes paid on at purchase many, many years ago since it went directly to a farm pond and never went to state waters and never had a motor on it. Was a form I had to get the seller to fill in a couple places and sign. Patrolman ran the vin number and checked out the boat to make sure what I had was correct on the form. He signed it and I mailed all I needed to the State DMV bypassing the local DMV. That was even suggested by the State. Quick turnaround and no hassle from the local ladies. For a few years we had the Gestapo running our local office. Not anymore. The new regime is really nice and can get proper answers for us. Fair but doing it the right way. If you decide to buy just give the state a call for advice first. Might save you some time and headache friend.
  17. Come on men, Let's not get this shut down. I understand both of you. This boils down to health care and might help someone here.
  18. We have been seeing a few cinnabar chanterelles showing up underneath the chestnut trees. I am thinking that the chanterelle harvest should be really good here this year and start showing up any day now. After two years of drought and no summer fungi we are so ready to get back into the game. Just got a new book. Yea I know lots of information out on the world wide web but I like books and reading. Two chanterelle recipes I'm very interested in trying. Chantrell jam and candied chanterelles. Huh you say? For those of you who don't know chanterelles have a fruity aroma like apricot so we will give it a go. Good luck summer foragers!
  19. Welcome Jeff, We already have a Jeff ( @Quillback ) here but very knowledgeable on the waters you inhabit. We welcome you though. Dang it The other Jeff beat me to it. Curses foiled again. He can set you straight!
  20. Must keep my mouth shut, must keep my mouth shut, must keep my mouth shut. 🤣
  21. You are very correct about both Trial Lake and Washington lake campgrounds. Very busy and both are water catchment lakes that are for supplying water to the upper Provo River. The two years we were there one-year Trial Lake was drained to almost nothing and the other year Washington lake was the same way. Quite a bit of pressure. Stocked by truck. Fish turnover is high with catch and keep fish are smaller. One thing about walking in we seen no fishermen in Star Lake and no fishermen on Cliff Lake either. Cliff Lake is close to Star with Star being a larger lake. These lakes are stocked by aircraft and fish survive and get much larger in both. One thing about Cliff Lake we caught both tigers and cutthroat, while just Tigers and Brook trout in Star. Devin you guys are going to have some fun out there. Will be neat to read your reports. Looking forward to it.
  22. The only difference between small and reasonable is how deep they are buried. Or so I was told.
  23. I have a list, Randy! 😃Thanks
  24. While we know you have a limited time and goals, here is an interesting drive in the high Uinta's Called the mirror lake scenic byway. The lakes are very well stocked with tiger trout. This is where we caught many. Walked into a lake called Star Lake. There is a trail running out of Trial Lake campground. Not too bad of a hike for us in 2017. I am sure if we go again that walk would be harder. You two young bucks would be a piece of cake. Caught a bunch up there. Have hiked in twice. Once just fished what would be the dam. The drainage below has brookies. Second time took lunch and a plan to walk around the whole lake. We did but sure were worn to a frazzle. You have your itinerary figured up, great planning right off the bat. I will attach where we caught our slam fish in case you change travel plans.
