  1. From above the bridge piers to below the second set of shoals. We have not looked any farther.
  2. @fishinwrench Todays question, Why is it when fly fishing from a boat standing or sitting still not moving your feet at all the fly line ends up under your shoes or even more mysterious behind your feet? I even had my fishing partner watch. My feet did not move at all but fly line was where it was not supposed to be. Input please
  3. Its there, General chat simple title!
  4. Going to open this new thread up dedicated to @fishinwrench. He is a smart guy and likes to tell us his thoughts and truths. I am going to try to ask at least one question a day and get his answer. You all can help if you want. This is going to be fun. Wrench said "I like it better when you try to prove that I'm wrong. 🙂" Wrench said " Oh I promise that you can safely believe everything I say. Even if it's not something you WANT to hear, or WANT to know. 😎 If I've ever lied to anyone here I'd love to have it disputed and to be properly corrected. " OK first questions for our armchair expert although this may be a small misnomer because he does have some real world experience in life. Wrench is the the planet we live on called the World a sphere or flat? Second question no matter what you answer how do you know this? Thank you, Marty
  5. I am going to start up a new topic. Think I will put it in general discussion. It will be devoted to you @fishinwrench buddy! Think I will put it in general discussion.
  6. Pretty interesting article. Both Pat and I have caught Gila Trout. Is there any other OAF members that have caught any? Would like to know what you thought of the trip and catching. Do you think we should of left well enough alone or spent the time , effort and monies to bring these back? I do Restoring the hope that 'a fish will rise' | Commentary | santafenewmexican.com
  7. Don't forget your stinky slimy fingers as you put a snack in your pie hole .
  8. Never a problem if you have fun doing it!
  9. This I tend to believe. From what little time I spent along the coast fishing every yard had a pile for salt destroyed outboards. Every day when pulling mine out of the water I took a hose and washed it off and ran some water through it with muffs. A local came along and asked what I was doing? I explained and he laughed. Said that well water you are putting through is is bad too. I take mine way inland to flush and clean them. if you live down here you will eventually loose the battle. Did the same with my fishing reels. Thankfully it was only a weeks worth of salty water.
  10. Yes I like him. You just need to let some of the stuff he says go in one ear and out the other. I'm sure he does it with most things I say .
  11. Mitch bring @fishinwrench in here for his opinion. As far as the DDT banning and the deaths from it I am betting he would say it was natures way of thinning the population? It is a virus right that malaria is correct? I haven't got a fight in this deal just wondering?
  12. Exactly Mike, Hated to say anything about this. Nothing tougher than making a drift as bait fisherman and tight lining there choice of bait. To each his or her own way of fishing. They really need their place and as a fly fisherman I need mine.
  13. You don't are missing as you lob that gob of worms.
  14. Hey buddy, Cat got your tongue ?
  15. Two more days of falling river and more for the plans the guys have for Saturday outing. Monday we had to shoot the slot on the starboard side of river on way upstream. It was pretty dicey then dodging logs. I am guessing more dragging to get to where you did so well.
  16. Too many hobbies. Priorities rule.

  21. I'm excited for you guys. Busy will lots of projects or I would of went with you two. Jetting up the river is pretty cushy though!
  22. You guys should have some fun. Grin away. There are some fish up there and I bet you will find some. Be safe and give us a report. This is a fly rod trip only right?
  23. That's why I posted it. Bring condiments MNtransplant seems like a hot fudge sundae kind of guy.

Got some vultures nesting in an old barn across the road. Have for years. They cleaned up a skunk on the road last week. Owls don't care about the smell either and get many skunks.

In case you lost something in translation related to the weasel we were doing a garden parody of the tool oneshot was wanting to get earlier in the post. Not making the weasel compost. Although skunks are a PIA and should be buried once dead.
