  1. Yep fish tails are tasty. Had an old neighbor. If he caught a big walleye he would fillet it then keep the bones. Fry up those too and eat the remaining meat between the bones. Not to waste anything. BilletHead
  2. Just the knowledge that has been in this boat is worth that right? , BilletHead
  3. Yes a couple weeks ago. Pulled them in 10 to 12 foot of water with a good cast and let a bit more line out. They would tick bottom in 8 foot of water. Kind of slowed down last three trips. What fish we are finding now are out deeper around 14 foot more or less. Lots of shorts. Running size 7 in flicker shad and shad raps, BilletHead
  4. Looks good Duane. I will take a half dozen Jesters will pick up my tab, BilletHead
  5. $ 118.56 to your door DJ. Sorry no COD. Pre pay to play on Tany, BilletHead
  6. Yes exactly as Ham said. That and small waters where they are introduced they are even harder to manage. They can overpopulate quickly becoming stunted. I know of places managed by MDC new lakes that were stocked with Bluegill, bass and channel cat. Then some bucket biologist wanting crappie dumped in a few. Yes for a few short years crappie fishing was good then nothing but dinky fish. Happens all the time. BilletHead says if they are legal fry them up!
  7. Good deal man! Enjoy and looking forward to the report, BilletHead
  8. Oh I have one too. Dang Bfers dumping all those carp. Had a hard time finding those tiny beer cans. I am really thinking it was one of those bucket biologist carp fishermen transporting baby carp to stock some place that has no carp and tripped over his camouflaged tennis shoes because he was sneaking around stocking waters illegally and dumped his bucket of carp. :), BilletHead
  9. I was hoping JD would chime in on this Ronnie. You might PM him. He has not been on here in a few days, BilletHead
  10. Lets see Got the beard started. Keep it trimmed and it is pretty much white. Grows fast. Wonder how they feel about bald heads? Much experience in Wyoming completing the cut slam twice. Have the old grandma who has done the same. Where do I send my resume ? . Even fished Yellowstone twice. How old of a granddaughter do they want? May have to rent one, BilletHead
  11. You are on a roll buddy! From slimy trout to stinkin bass . BilletHead
  12. Touching, Can see the love here. Prayers sent from the BilletHead's . BilletHead
  13. You can clean fish on the bank and throw the carcasses in the water. I was cleaning fish at the Aldrich boat ramp and an agent I have had dealings with drove up as I was cleaning a couple of walleye. We visited as I cleaned the fish and I walked to the water and pitched the carcasses into the water. We visited a bit more and we both went about our business. Go to Warsaw below HST lake. Watch the fish being cleaned there and the rest thrown into the water. The deal is on the water. Out of the water you are cleaning them. BilletHead
  14. Nice trip and report DJ, Thanks for taking us along! BilletHead
  15. Mick, Some brands of bearing buddies are different. Some of the zerks are actually threaded into a tapped threading. Others are through thin metal with a nut and washer behind the zerk. I have had to mess with both types. The ones with the nut and washer behind will loosen and you have a wobbly zerk that will leak around it. If it gets too loose you will loose the zerk and have to fish around for the nut and washer in the grease behind it. It will never tighten if it is just loose nothing to hold the nut behind. You need to pop off the cap and use a socket of pair of pliers to hold the nut, tighten and pop the cover back on. pain in the rear and poor engineering IMO but an easy fix if you want to. Looks like you have found another problem with the seal you may not want to mess with yourself but you can replace seal and clean and repack existing bearings if they are not damaged. BilletHead Has four trailers with buddy bearings and one with sealed non greaseable bearings. I like the maintenance free ones and hope they last along time. BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

It's hot so we are going to cook the meal outside. All of it, I did the chicken thighs over charcoal and peach wood splits. Lid went on in cycles to make a lot of smoky goodness, While i was doing this Mrs. BilletHead was in charge of the sides also grilled. Quartered up a head of napa cabbage. Drizzled some el cheapo Italian dressing on all sides and a sprinkle of S&P. Then there was a basket of baby Portobello mushrooms that had been tossed in olive oil and S&P. She kept the cabbage turned and stirred the shrooms off and on, When done it was all plated up and another drizzle of the dressing on the cabbage, Dang it was good and plates were cleaned, BilletHead
  17. Dan are you speaking from experience? . I agree for all the advancements mankind has made there has been some great losses too. Mainly in human values. I worry for the future of the BilletHead offspring. From the BilletHead Jr. on down to the BilletHead Jr. offspring and farther down the lineage, BilletHead
  18. Great report Curt, Fun with family and fishing. Good deal all around. What you all don't know is I was getting pictures daily from Curt. A play by play fishing report. Thanks buddy! BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

Thanks buddy, Think I will have another slice now that it is set up properly 🤗. We only live on this earth once might as well enjoy it while we are here, BilletHead
  21. I learned that from you. Folly the string along story guy, BilletHead
  22. Dkman, I am kind of just a hack at it right now. Just give it a throw out there and strip off some more line and give it a go. If you are not getting bit change up. More line, less line, deeper baits. Thinking back to Monday I think the reason Mrs. BilletHead beat me so bad is she did not add any extra line out. Thus her bait was slightly shallower than mine. Trial and error my friend. If I really learn something better I will share, BilletHead.

    What's Cooking?

Now for dessert, Mrs. BilletHead made me a homemade chocolate pie. My favorite. Why am i being treated so nicely today? I can think of sixty reasons right off the bat. The Mrs. was not happy with the photo. The pie had not set up yet. I told her it did not matter as I could not wait any longer. It went into my pie hole and it was good , BilletHead
  25. Bummer, I am guessing it was the storm and not your stomach that gave you fits. Came through here a little after four AM. Strong winds took many limbs and leaves out of the tall trees. Tomato plants looked OK. Good thing I did work on them yesterday. Hope your plants come out of it ok and your hard work pans out, BilletHead
