  1. Quick opener report. Really foggy here this morning. Hunted until approximately 9:15. Sun came out and it began to get pretty warm. Mrs. BilletHead and I scratched out 17 between us. As it is in dove hunting we should of hit more. Fun times with each other. Not sure about this afternoon. 91 now, most likely hit the field in the morning. These birds were in and out of a cut corn field. 90 percent were young birds raised local. Need cooler weather.
  2. We have a place and if nothing goes awry we will be there trying.
  3. We call them " The Powers that Be" .
  4. Be careful with what you say Jeff! 😁 Put fish in there somewhere.
  5. Yes, that permethrin is amazing stuff Anthony. I do the same during hunting season. Have watched ticks start crawling across treated clothing . They would start making circles and just flat die. My cousin used to spray a rag and wipe down his horse. It would kill the biggest meanest black horse flies. He read the percentage on that bottle then bought full strength and started mixing his own for the horse and his clothes. Said it was cheaper. It in fact was stronger than what is sold and recommended to use like you, and I do. Cousin Mike found out he had bladder cancer that had went all over his body. I can't say it was this product, but he did tinker with the mixture. He was a long-time chain smoker like in 55 years also. Who knows but I believe in this product used as recommended.
  6. Sad deal, sorry to hear that for you and your Son. Good luck to you both Oneshot.
  7. How is the son with the bad COPD doing?
  8. I'm sure anything will help. Do a test for us Phil. One side use deet, other side nothing. Give us a report :). Seriously I treat a set of pants with permethrin when getting into dicey places. Compared to Pat I get off pretty easy.
  9. Yes! Pat worse than me but she walks in the yard around the house with flip flops.
  10. when I said my choice of fly rod, I have never paid 500 bucks for a fly rod. Personally, I like and throw TFO for fly fishing.
  11. HA! Ten more years and you can say that about me 🤪.
  12. Love both of those! thanks Ness!
  13. Again Bingo, this was about throwing bigger streamers to larger trout and possibly stripers. And again, I am not using something for 3.39 or 6.50 for big fish. I would gladly stand beside someone with the same casting ability as me with those lines with their choice of rod and my lines with my choice of rod with six-to-eight-inch streamers.
  14. Let us know how you like the north pole, Glen.
  15. Me too and I have the equipment .
  16. Good Job guys! Looks like liverfest is one for the books.
  17. I think @Devan S. Was talking about bigger game. You won't see me using $ 3.39 fly line for big game.
  18. I believe this for sure if you use too light of tippet for trout. It doesn't stop me from pointing directly at where the line is in the water. Go with bigger tippet.
  19. The sky is falling type?
  20. Are you kidding me? Sure you can.

    What's Cooking?

Your gifted sourdough starter still going @ness! I think I am going to dehydrate that starter utilizing the weekly Dis guard.

    What's Cooking?

Smoked hybrid white sauce pizza. Smoked some hybrid odds and ends. Found a pizza recipe for smoked fish with a white sauce. Mighty fine eats. One thing it called for was frying some capers in olive oil. I thought whaaaat. They kinda opened up. I had to take a taste test. Good snacking. Interesting flavor. Pizza was a hit and will be doing it more. Starting the smoke the fish. Ran it at 180 and added the smoke tube for extra smoke in the trager. Pie loaded just into the trager, Out of the trager and ready for after cooking toppings, Served up. Still doing the sourdough weekly, incorporated some of the garden rosemary. Nice add. Like it. First picture placing in the trager. Second picture finished and cooking .
