I have fished Belton and Stillhouse neither one impressed me but I am a hack. I’ve been to Amistad and Choke but not fished them. Amistad is in the middle of desert nowhere land. Choke is a place that I have always wanted to return to and fish.
If you are old enough to get the federal Senior Pass (formerly known as the Golden Age Pass) it replaces the COE permit and you only have to get it once.
If I remember correctly the water patrolman said 50 yards from the bank was the number, but I was busy rubbing my posterior from his chewing for us fishing too far from the bank without a light on to be accurate with that.
I only got out 54 times in 2020. I have finished all of my projects at the farm and turned it over to my son-in-law and daughter. My goal is to get back to fishing 100 days per year.

Last year all of our neighborhood robins disappeared, like usual. On a drive to Rice’s Camp we saw hundreds of them along the road in the edge of the woods.
