Pomme de Terre and Stockton are lousy with them. A friend and I caught over 50 in one cove white bass fishing at Pom one day.

I have been most of the routes possible to get to Memphis. For a young woman traveling alone I am with Phil 40 to 65. -
As I remember that rod you got has that on it. I use them on almost all of my rods. I get them from Mud Hole.

All that matters is left and right. If my memory is still good there is a menu option to change the left/right settings. -

I am not searching for smallmouth in particular. I am just wondering why I can only find them in the winter in the area I like to fish.

That was my thoughts when I first saw it. I was surprised when I used my Boga Grips on it. Then a closer look and it was pretty short. It had the mouth and head of a larger fish.

Slice them, use them as lasagna noodles. You can also use them in frittatas.

You are right. I should have been more specific about the area. I’m fishing between Bearden’s and Carr’s.

I can never find any until the winter then they are mixed in with the spots and greenies. What kind of water are you smallie guys find them in?

I fished from 10-2 up river above Pt 15. I threw spinner baits, brush hogs, Ned Rigs and zeros. I only had 8 bites, all on zeros, and managed to catch 7 of them. However only 2 would measure. One of them was 4 1/2#. Zero colors that worked were green pumpkin, watermelon red and dirt. The water was typical James River off color and ranged from 55 to 60°.

It is on the west side of the lake just north of the Hwy 86 bridge if my memory is still good.

We’ve always done our own. We skin and bone them out in the woods then leave the coyotes a feast. We have a grinder and a slicer for burger and steaks as well as tubes for our own summer sausage. It isn’t rocket science to process a deer.

That’s not me. I don’t hunt deer any more. I don’t like the meat. I assume it is his 308 but I am not sure.

I didn’t have a choice. I had a brain clot that put me in the hospital, then to a rehab hospital then out patient rehab. They did a cranial angiogram and found the right vertebral artery is 100% blocked and the left one 70% blocked. I was told no more tobacco, no more caffeine and no more alcohol unless I wanted to die. I have always been a red meat eater. Now it is a couple of times a month. They said the Mediterranean diet was the best thing I could do, so I am eating that way and feeling pretty good.

Yesterday was not so good for me. I fished Flat Creek for specs and got no love. So I put the fairy wands away and headed up James to do some shaky. I caught 7 with 3 keepers. I was half a heartbeat slow and missed or lost more than I caught. Shaky in the wind isn’t my best technique. If I get a chance to go back soon, I think I will do some T rigged or swing jig brush hoggin.

Congrats on the new grandson. There is almost nothing about fishing anymore. I guess Face Book has taken that over.

You can use news paper and burn the pin feathers off. We did that all the time when we killed fryers.

Yep all I have ever found is foundations and one grave yard that was moved and the graves left open.

Confused- on trolling motors and electronics

Due to an injury I had to go to a self deploying trolling motor. The MK Ulterra was my only option. I had Lowrance electronics. Over time I sold my Lowrance units and replaced them with Humminbirds. There are lots of functions that are available now and I use many of them on every trip. I have the option of even controlling the Ulterra with my birds. I wouldn’t want to have to go back to units that would not work together. -
Those are a lot more serious looking than what I saw. I saw more of a rash instesd of open wounds.
