  1. I am wanting to lighten some jig heads by molding in some lighter materials when I pour them. Would adding a glass bead to the mold work or would it be a catastrophe in the making?
  2. I have 2 Curado 150 DC reels that could use a thorough cleaning. I do all of my other reels but I am not going to tear into them. Do any of you know of some place that does a good job and has a reasonable turnaround?
  3. For sure it was a nice day weather wise and all of those brown fish. Thanks for the trip.

    New Ride

You better stay away that horse probably will step on your bad foot.
  5. There was someone camped at Cape Fair Monday. It looked like they had electricity.
  6. Jeff came over Monday. We hit the water at 07:00 and fished until afternoon. The weather was great. The water was 62°. The fish were on vacation. We struggled all morning long, a fish here and there. Some were on the main lake and some were in creeks. They hit the jig and worm when they decided to bite. It was a really tough day.
  7. Will some of you smarter guys do some extrapolating and explain this to me. I don’t have a clue.
  8. My neighbor and I went down from Cape Fair we struggled in the morning with only 3. Later we found a worm bite, sort of , and caught 11 more. The 3 were on jigs and the 11 were on Zeros. They were all shallow.
  9. I don’t know the temp. We were from Big M to the mouth of Kings.
  10. It was slow for sure but a beautiful day to be out. There is still some color in the trees. Thanks for the trip Jeff.
  11. I agree with Andy. Go somewhere and get some hands on time. Your learning curve will probably be shorter if you stick with Birds.
  12. Yes it is. It is a must see.
  13. My neighbor and I went down today. It was foggy again. More idiots came up and were ripping. Two of them pulled into the marina cove and fished for a while. It must be 40 miles to State Park and with a ride that long in lower 30s temps I would be more than ready for a breather. We fished hard but only wound up with 15 fish and one keeper just like yesterday except the wind was stronger.
  14. Scenic not until you get to Wyoming or Colorado. Kansas and Nebraska are in the way. I have been several times. My suggestion is take a look at the states and what they have to offer. Then plan your trip based on what you want to see. You can do several lifetimes of scenic in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. On our last trip we chose what we wanted to see one last time (Mt Rushmore, Devils Tower, Old Faithful, some of the canyons in Colorado, etc).
  15. I met Jeff this morning. It was a little foggy with no wind. Just as we launched the fog rolled in and shut down the visibility. We hit a few close spots working our way up river catching a few bass. When the fog lifted we went to Martin Hollow and worked our way back. I’m guessing maybe 2 fish per mile. We caught fish on jigs, shaky head, spinner baits and Ned rigs. It was painfully slow. We only wound up with 15. I didn’t have a keeper. I don’t know how many keepers he had. Water was 56-62° and air was 31-64°.
  16. 4 boats came zooming around us this morning at Cape. Fog was thick, visibility was 50 yards maybe. They were doing 40 or more. We could barely see them. Not one had any lights on. You can’t fix stupid. Most of them were on channel roll offs.
  17. I won’t know until I see some. I’m seeing quite a bit of orange on the ones that spots are regurgitating on Table Rock.
  18. Please post again when you have more colors.
  19. With your meds is alcohol a good idea?
  20. Can I just make a donation instead of buying tickets?

    Welder advice

It probably wouldn’t be used more than once or twice a month.
  22. Several years ago I bought a wire welder for general use at the farm. I don’t remember the amp size but it is too small for several of the jobs that come up. I want to get a new one that will handle general welding jobs that show up on a regular basis. I’m sure some of you have the knowledge and maybe experience to guide me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.
  23. Sorry but sold

    Opsss

I’ve had a few of those mishaps. I had a utility trailer come off while crossing a railroad track. It had stock panels on it and they were sticking out the front. The safety chains held but the trailer bounced back and forth putting dozens of dents and scratches into the end gate of my leased truck.
