    What's Cooking?

I don’t but one thing I used to do was cut fish into cubes, lightly boil them then dip them in cocktail sauce (poor man’s lobster).
  2. The humidity was too high to open the windows around here today. I did have to open both ends of the garage and a couple of side windows then torn on the pole fan go get the air moving. In the summer it builds up heat during the day and the insulation won’t let it out during the night.

    Hemp

    What’s the recipe?

    90/90/10

It took 5 hours and several miles of boating to get them.
  5. I’m in year 11 since I had mine done. I had my astigmatism corrected with toric lenses while he was at it. It was an extra $1,000 per eye. That has saved me a bundle with no glasses for all this time. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

    90/90/10

My neighbor and I fished out of Cape Fair today. When we quit it was 90°, the water was 90°, and we had caught 10 bass. All of the fish were in skinny water from 1-3 feet. Spinnerbaits were the best. We fished from the marina to Asher’s and back. There were very few others out there. We had 4 nice keepers up to 18”. 9 were lmb and 1 was a spot.
  7. Jeff and I met at 06:00 today looking for a top water bite. We used my boat so we could survey the area with live scope. There was scattered surface action and always too far away to reach with a cast. After a while we switched to Keitech swim baits. The fish were 30-35’ deep in 35-40 fow. There was a mixture of lmb, spots, and whites but not as many as last time. The one I could see on the scope wouldn’t react to my bait at all. We also caught a few in other places but it was a tough morning for me. We wound up with 10 whites and 6 or 8 blacks. Jeff the swim bait guy caught most of them. It was pretty windy. Spot Lock was a lifesaver. The water was 83° in most places. The air was 78-89°. Very few other fishermen were out there.
  8. Like Marty and Mike I have the Rapala lithium knife. When it works it works good, however, I don’t get much life from the batteries. I’ve had 2 of them. The first one got a blade hung in it and no one could get it out.
  9. It was better than we thought it would be. If it weren’t for luck it would have been a long day. I am glad that we went to that secret Jeff fish getting spot. It is like my old buddy Lefty Evans always said, “I’d rather be lucky than good any day.” Thanks for the invite Jeff.
  10. I could join you guys at McCord Bend. I don’t think it’s deep enough for me to go much above that.
  11. My s-i-l called a bob cat in while we were turkey hunting. He was on the ground next to a tree.
  12. If you drove by it you for sure wouldn’t go.
  13. We are on high ground here in Republic but we got 3.2” of rain in a couple of hours and there have been several reports of flooding on our streets and in the Ford dealer’s car lot. I haven’t been out so I have no personal information.
  14. Yes we were in the Z20. We went up to some always produces spots (not). Then we went to school house hollow and worked our way back. I had several jig bites that wouldn’t take it and three come unbuttoned. The only good thing was the wind which kept it bearable.
  15. Jeff met me at 05:30 this morning. The East ramp and parking lot are closed. The West is open. Adock is floating in the cove. There is a demolished dock in Bearden. The water is 85°. Fishing was tough. Few boats were on the water.
  16. Maybe. I am pretty sure that I would have to buy a new setup for that light of one unless I were to try it on a spinning setup which would take me out of my comfort zone.
  17. When I go they will either eat the 1/2 oz or go hungry.🤤
  18. 1/4 oz buzz bait? Do they make them that tiny? Mine are mostly 1/2 oz. Where do you get them, at the small shop.😜
  19. I don’t know who nearly everyone is. In my circle walleye is tops no matter how it is fixed. A good smoked trout is also up there. Crappie comes in third with smoked way better than fried.
  20. Good for you. I figured you would be out there. We struggled to get 23 bass at Stockton today. 19 were brown fish. They were on bluffs which you know I don’t like.
  21. Several years ago there was government regulations on accuracy more so than now. They even would change up the accuracy allowed without notice. That’s changed and accuracy is now within feet. I also have the old Magellan with the topo map though I haven’t used it in years. It was the only game in town at the time. We used to geocache with it all over the midwest.
  22. It’s been in my yard for 20 years. I get an occasional mole looking around from the neighbor and I immediately feed it Notomco.
  23. None about fishing but for. Grub control check out milky spore disease. Put it on right and it might last 30 years.
  24. I got a message from a guy who had his boat in A dock. It has been recovered. It was upside down and the box latches were broken. Both consoles are destroyed. I don’t think insurance has been involved yet.
  25. All I know about it was posted on Table Rock group Facebook.
