Home waters is the Meramec. In my youth it was Big River and Indian Hills Lake. Locally my heart is Table Rock, afar west coast Florida or Key West if I'm dreaming.

I've probably put mine down but live close to Niangua River and fish it, was Baptized there and it probably will be my final resting place but we have a Cabin by Truman Lake and enjoy fishing it most.

I grew up literally a rock throw from a creek that was about half size Bryant or Northfork but was best hidden secret in southern missouri for big smallies. And that was my home water. But now it filled in and about dry. So I spend most my time running the rivers near by still chasing those big river smallie. I spend most my time on upper Northfork river so that's where I cast my vote but several other streams I like just as well.

Growing up, my home water was the Red River coming out of LakeTexoma. Grew up on that lake, and spent lots of time on the river catching stripers in the mid 20lb class.

Living here now, my home water, or the one i have fished the most the past 20+ years, and enjoy the most is Pomme, and its tributaries. Lots of memories in Texas and on Pomme.

One of those memories was when my son was 15. A group of he and a few buddies took off about 2 hours before dark to float a section of the Pomme river we had done to many times to count over the years. When i left for work around 6pm, they called and were putting in their yaks. Around 11:30 i received a call from my wife saying the boys haven’t been seen or heard from since 8pm. One of the boys lived close to the take out spot, which is where they were staying the night. After those parents contacted my wife looking for the boys, they realized they were not at either house.
I remember driving that patrol car like i was Earnhardt Jr. to where the parents, along with water patrol and conservation were staged. When i arrived water patrol had located them stranded on a sand bar about a mile up stream with their boat. They said it got dark on them, and they couldn’t see with the clouds and no moon.

Good memories.

I spent a lot of time on Texoma when I was a kid. Lots of good memories from there.

My home waters would have to be the Meramec around the Onondaga area. My great Grandfather lived a few miles from the cave on Possum Hollow Rd, and we had many other relatives in the area. An uncle owned Keyes Canoe rental for a bit, it eventually morphed into Ozark Outdoors. I don't get down that way much anymore since it's turned into a coconut oil circus.

Both sets of parents grew up in Denison, thus I spent most summers with my mom's dad, Dain as we called him.  He didn't like being called "grandpa".  Spent time on Texoma trolling for sand bass and setting trot lines for big cats.  Later I got a taste of stripers below the dam... that's fun!!

Oh my. Ever hear the story of the catfish at the base of the dam that took an 8 year old boy over that chainlink fence on the south side of the river? Must have been around the late 70’s. Rumors are that divers went down and seen eyes as wide as a VW’s headlights.

I was born in Sherman at TMC, tho we lived in Pottsboro, and had a farm over the line near Durant, Ok. When i was 16 i caught a 26lb striper fishing below the dam in my brothers 16’ jonboat. We would scoop up the shad that came thru the dam. Boy the memories will last forever. We used to wade the rivers in that area, and the 5’ long toothy fishes would swim right next to us.

I have a couple brothers in Denison and Pottsboro, and a sister in Sherman. We get down there a few times a year.
