Yeah well Mo lets us buy and sell non-oxygenated gas at the pumps too, it just has to meet higher octane levels. The places listed here https://www.pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=MO  that are near me are indeed selling various high octane non-oxygenated gas for about $.50/gal more money.  Another sure source of non-oxygenated gas is any  small airport, apparently prop planes don't like alcohol.  And yes it is legislated state by state what can or cannot by sold within each state.  There was outcry of politicians benefiting from the construction of distilleries back when the E10 mandate was first imposed and tales of politicians owning corn farms, other such stuff but the voting public stood behind the E10 laws and reelected all the pols.

Yeah, you just nailed it " lots of people in MO have corn to sell, Arkansas, not so much".  The well-funded Corn-Ethanol Lobbyists hard at work passing out "perks" in Jefferson City.... vacations and money to the Missouri Legislators again who are easily bought and sold and owned.  Always follow the money !

My boat sets in garage a lot, so I use 87 non-ethanol and Mercury fuel products year round. I buy gas for my 1997 V6 Merc from Phillips 66 Miami OK (which sells only non-ethanol fuel for all grades 87, 89, & 91). Politicians in Jefferson City are benefiting from corn. Oklahoma was 5th rated state for Oil production in 2014.

I'd love to test some of you guys fuel which has "zero alcohol" in it.

What color is a clear glass jar of it ?

Regardless of how much corn your state grows or how much oil comes from your state....the fuel that you buy is refined where?   There's only one pipeline from the refinery to the storage facilities, guys.  No separate pipeline for non-ethanol fuel blends.

Fuel is a homogenous product, pipeline to truck, to pump. Most likely all the same. They will let you  pay more for the same thing.

The guy that used to own the trucks 'round here said the proprietary additives were added at the station, this allowed him to deliver Phillips gas and Conoco out of the same load, but if you guys are right and the stuff comes straight from the pipeline, that takes the corn out of the equation and we must have a large ethanol deposit in Texas or Kuwait  that gets mined right along with the rest of the crude. It'd also mean that all that premium gas is 87 octane or that all that 87 octane gas is really 91 octane. Diesel is the same as gasoline, just costs thirty cents a gallon more... homogeneous, yep So what did they used to do to get the ethanol out of gas back in the '50s?

There is a difference between diesel and gas. Someone really screwed up. Put diesel fuel in premium gas pump. Major repairs required to our neighbors Lexus. They did get a good payout out of that deal and their new Tesla is a frigging rocket ship. Will see if Tesla lasts after the tax credit expires. They are frigging fast and handle great.

I was born/raised in Audrain co. and I know some people in the biofuel business.  I can tell you that the biofuel from MidAmerica BF in Mexico, Mo. and POET BF in Laddonia is sent by rail car directly to the major refineries, it is not sent to fuel distribution/storage facilities.  So no "blending" of fuel takes place at storage/distribution centers.  They may mix additives into the fuel at the time it is being loaded into semi-tankers, but I doubt they are doing any alcohol blending (or removing) at the distribution centers.

I don't know for 100% certainty but I'm reasonably sure that there is no such thing as alcohol-free fuel at any gas station in the U.S.

As I said before, I have tested fuel from A LOT of boats, all from guys (from all over the Midwest/mid-south) that swear they ONLY buy "non-ethanol fuel", and it ALWAYS tests 10% alcohol regardless of where it came from.   

And in spite of all the propaganda and popular belief.... there is nothing at all wrong with that.  The only issue I ever see with fuel is when it is overly aged.  4 months old and I can tell something isn't right when adjusting fuel mixture screws on carbureted engines.  Add fresh 10% and things straighten right up and engines respond to 1/4 turns of the mixture jets like they are supposed to. Every single time.

Oh and while we're discussing this let me throw this lil'tidbit at ya....All you guys with "water separating fuel filters" are wasting your time/money.  That filter is only gonna hold about 1/4 cup of water before it starts passing water right on to the engine.  Add 1/4 cup of water to one tank of fuel and you'll never even know it....and neither will your motor, whether you have a W/S filter or not.  So unless you change that filter every single tank of fuel....then WTF even bother?  😎 

So much rediculous FUEL BS going on in everyone's brains!  Drives me crazy.

Your fuel needs to be reasonably fresh..... That's all you need to know. All the rest of that crap that is being programmed into your brain is 100% hogwash.   You don't need any additives, or stabilizers, or "ring free", or "Sea Foam" or any of that crap.  Just fresh 87% fuel.

I'll say it one more time, I have tested the non-ethanol fuel I get here in AR and it does not contain any ethanol.  Could there be trace amounts?  Maybe, but it certainly isn't 10%.
