motoman Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 This kinda made my head explode to see them cut this Romanmade open! - I thought it was interesting to see the weight system and different density wood plugs used. - http://www.tackletour.com/autopsyromanmademother.html - (Sorry it's not real Table Rock specific. Maybe I'll stretch a bit to get this more related to this forum........"Anybody ever throw any model Romanmades on Table Rock?":-P Daryk Campbell Sr 1
evilcatfish Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Was kinda sad to see that great bait destroyed, but I guess it was in the name of science lol I've thrown a RM on the Rock a bit, caught a couple but nothing crazy. They really are finely constructed baits but are super hot right now and fetching well over retail on the secondary market, and when retail is $110-400 (if you can even find one at a retailer) that is a lot of money. I will say Roman Made has had some paint issues which I find unacceptable on such an expensive bait but supposedly it has been fixed.
bluebasser86 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 That about gave me an anxiety attack just reading that I've got a few Deps Slide Swimmer 175s and a Bull shooter Jr, I haven't completely convinced myself I don't need a Negotiator yet, but can't imagine ever being able to justify a Mother.
dtrs5kprs Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Bad enough paying $400 for a bait, worse cutting one up, worse yet to do such a half baked job of it. Should have been much more thorough and less destructive. Have the feeling they missed some of the little things that make that puppy run. Stay tuned...I will soon wield an Xacto knife and a pair of scissors for the Ned Rig Autopsy Champ188, Sac River Jim and Quillback 3

Ham Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I'm soooooo glad I have no idea what ole blue is talking about and that I have resisted the swimbait addiction so far. buddygr53 and Champ188 2 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Champ188 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I'm soooooo glad I have no idea what ole blue is talking about and that I have resisted the swimbait addiction so far. Me and you both, Ham. But I also know there was once a time when I said I'd never throw a jerkbait (that was years ago before I quit drinking), a drop shot or a Ned rig. Acknowledging that all of those have come to pass, I'm not gonna cross the line of saying NEVER to those swimbaits. But at least I can say NOT YET. Ham 1

Members Jozark Posted February 5, 2015 Members Posted February 5, 2015 Hey Bluebasser thanks for the links to the different swim baits styles. I will agree with Champ and never say never, for I told myself that I will never try a Ned rig. Well when the bit gets tough on the Rock high skies and no wind guess what I will try. I also been trying to find a Roman Made Negotiator, but seems like all the tackle retailers are currently out of them. I think all of us would agree that we all have strong passion for fishing or at least I do. Fish whatever makes you happy you only live once. Champ188 1
