ness Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Thought I'd start a thread for folks to post what they're cooking. I'll start off with what I did last night. Got the itch for some German food, so I cooked up Jaegerschnitzel, which is essentially weinerschnitzel, which is essentially a fried pork cutlet, with a mushroom sauce. Pounded a couple thin chops even thinner, breaded with some panko and fried in vegetable oil. Sauce was baby portabellos, a little red wine and a chicken gravy from the deli section of the store. Served with a side of German red cabbage and some mashed taters. Turned out pretty good. I did this with pheasant a couple weekends ago. That was good too. So, what are you cooking? Chief Grey Bear, Ham and BilletHead 3 John
BilletHead Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Looks yummy Ness. I made some with goose breast. Turned out great. We are kind of in a food rut right now not trying anything new. Seared deer back strap with oven roasted red potatoes Saturday. Seared mallard breast yesterday with mashed potatoes and green beans. I suppose with the weather like it is I should do something creative for Mrs. BilletHead this week. I don't mind cooking and making a mess but dislike the cleaning up. Flysmallie Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Well I made Valentines dinner for all my women last night. Nothing fancy. Chicken Fettuccine, Spaghetti, Blackened Italian Sausage Fettuccine, breadsticks, and a monster salad. And I made one hell of a mess in the kitchen. Ham 1
rps Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Friday steamed lobster with french style glazed carrots and champagne (early Valentines because of the delivery of live lobsters). Saturday I did an appetizer with a zesty lobster salad wrapped in lettuce bundles. I turned the lobster shells into a bisque as the main course. Last night I made salsa, guacamole, and a red enchilada casserole with ground deer meat. No pictures. Sorry. Ham 1

It was Rubens on Valentines day, and Ham/beans/corn bread last night at the casa De'la Wrench. Nothing picture worthy but I wish I could share a few farts with ya. Nothing wrong with that, wrench. Ham and beans with cornbread is a classic fall/winter meal that I love! Rubens too. Well I made Valentines dinner for all my women last night. Nothing fancy. I actually was looking forward to your contribution, and you far exceeded my expectations. Would like to hear more about the bisque -- I love it, but have never made a very good one. I've got some green chiles in the fridge, and some pork left over. Probably gonna whip up a green chili tonight. John
snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 We had nothing left from the Boston butt or I would do the same thing Ness. Pete

Flysmallie Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Ronnie did you clean up your mess? Of course I did. I cooked it for four lovely ladies so they sure as hell weren't going to clean it. Gavin 1
