I've had the feline variety at the 4th of July fair.  Marinated mystery meat on a stick is good!

You know I have trapped and called in many bobcats. When skinning them I noticed hot translucent the meat was unlike  the opaque meat in the  canines I have skinned. I know that cougar is consumed by hunters. Bobcat did not smell as strong as coyote or fox either. So in my mind I told myself I would try bobcat sometime if I ever decided to call or trap again. So far have not tried it but would if I take my own fresh meat from a bobcat.

Chinese ?

No Wrench we are talking wild kittens. Not the domestic variety. We do have some ferial domestic ones around here from time to time. I say time to time but they don't seem to last long. Not sure why :) . They meet the same fate as MoCarps bow fished carp. They don't belong in the ecosystem , are invasive and detrimental to the land,. I am going to name ferial cats land carp,

We have had times when feral cats were a problem around our house. I was cage trapping them. Over an 18 month period I caught 22 cats, 13 raccoons, and 9 opossums. Of those cats only caught 2 neighbor cats and 3 domestic cats (would meow when approached). The rest were nasty snarling ferals. That was 4to5 yrs ago. Now we are seeing an increase in cats around our neighborhood. Started trapping again and have been catching mostly raccoons.

Yeah I can't tolerate drifter Kitty's around here, I don't want them crawling around in my customers boats.  I don't have the heart to kill them so when one starts hanging around I have my kids catch it and we take them to weigh-in and release elsewhere.  They never show back up.

             You are a bad man,

No better than the people over 140 years ago that transplanted and stocked the non native carp. Ferial cats and crap oops I mean carp are here to stay but that is not right. My buddy Wrench I never figured you being such a big hearted pushover. Take those kitties to a shelter and let them deal with them :) . Just don't bring them to BilletHeadVille so I have to deal with them. Domestic cats can be pretty neat if taken care of. We had one the Mrs. drug one  home when BilletHead Jr. Left for college. She had separation issues. Me not so much I wanted to celebrate the freedom from a teenager know it all :) . So this cat was indoor/outdoor cat until he ate wild mice and birds and chipmunks and always had to be wormed. When I watched him sit under the birdfeeder and go stright up and snatch bird after bird and never eat them just kill for nothing. Thought about how many cats do this and eating not only song birds but quail and other native species. Right then the cat was banished full time to the inside of the house where he lived a long good life until he had health issues. I did not deal out the death sentence but the vet did. Pretty sad watching an old friend being put down. No more cats for us,

To be totally honest it isn't so much that I don't wanna kill it, but if I did then I'd have to go pick the nasty sumbitch up and haul it off somewhere.   So if I'm gonna have to do that anyway then it might as well stay alive and have one more chance to find a good home.

Living just outside of town about where houses stop I used to get a lot of dumped cats and dogs.  Cats were never a problem it was a competition between me and my old german shepard who got them first.  Dogs I have more of a soft spot for, have re-homed a few, kept one occasionally, but others that were aggressive or livestock chasers/killers well they just went away.
