Man, I love the idea of a griddle a lot!! And I also love breakfast for dinner.

i'm finding it very handy and the possibilities are endless.  Can't wait to do some Philly Cheese steaks, fajitas and maybe some sausage and peppers and onions next.

Last night was a disaster. Don't think about asking.

Tonight was better. Spam fried rice.

Bolognese looks great.

We had frozen the remainder of the Bolognese we made a month or so ago and just had it the other night. Dang.

This has got to be the only fishing forum on the planet that gets this many Bolognese mentions :D

Pasta looks good RPS but that avocado is intriguing. Gonna have to try that. We love avocado and balsamic.

After you peel the avocado half, flip it over and carefully slice a section to make a flat bottom. Flip it again and use the slice to fill the seed hole. Salt and pepper the avocado. Fill the cavity with small diced tomato. Drizzle EVOO over the tomato and then the balsamic.

The brother in law and his adult son are stopping by for a late dinner this evening. The young man had been working in Seattle and is headed back t New Hampshire for a new job. The brother in law is helping him get his "stuff" and car back to the East coast. While doing so they decided to stop in Arizona and Oklahoma to see the siblings.

I put a skirt steak into a mojo marinade earlier today and will sear it in the egg at around 650 degrees. I will roast some farmers market red potatoes and slather (a professional chef term) them with home made pesto.

I found a luscious, ripe honeydew melon at the market also. That will become a melon Caprese style salad. The brother in law may be coming, but I am looking forward to the meal anyway. 😉

Between having my grandson for the long weekend, and spending 2 of the 3 days working on a friend's house, (never ending project), tonight my daughter came up to get the young'un back and brought my son with her.  Whike the house turned into a wrestle mania or border collies and a 5 year old vs, his uncle, my wife had thawed out a nice venison backstrap.  Picked out one of the big zucchini from the table on the porch, gutted and chunked it up and into a foil package like you would taters and onions in the grill.  Took the strap and rubbed it down with garlic olive oil and then a heavy coating of house seasoning.  Grill good and hot by then so I got some fantastic grill marks on the meat.  Came out a perfect rare/medium rare.  Skillet of some sort of rice and a few boletes mushrooms from the yard sautéed up.  Not a bad ending to the Holiday weekend at all.
