I put the rice in gumbo.  Red beans goes on top of the rice in red beans and rice.  Old boss of mine made some killer gumbo, he would add some alligator meat if he could get it.

Local Cajun restaurant has all you can eat gumbo on Tues Lunch menu.  Rice is in theirs too.

Thawed out some tukey bfast sausage tonight @BilletHead. Sure keeps well in the freezer. So good.

Do you put the rice in it....or dish it out over a bed of rice?   I think I prefer the later.

I keep the rice separate and put gumbo over it. Putting it in changes the thickness of the broth eventually. Maybe not a bad thing, but you can’t take it out.

I think I may have slightly screwed up the rice.  It resembles mashed potatoes. 🤨

I followed the instructions, but I'm used to minute rice and this stuff acts different.   

Oh well, it'll eat.

The thing about gumbo is even the so so oes are usually still good.  I still make jambalaya occasionally.

I make pancakes every Sunday, mom will always eat a pancake.  Bisquick, cinnamon, vanilla, and coca cola or sprite.  Maybe blueberries if I have them.  Used to put the blueberries in a smiley face pattern, always made my daughters day.  I like blackberry, straybwrry, or raspberry jam, or better yet peach butter, on them better than syrup but occasionally I have a need for a rich, buttery, sweet syrup.  Of course a pancake ain't nothing without a fried egg on top so that the yolk runs over everything when you cut it it.
