That was probably why folks were mean - gotta wear some Razorback gear :secret-laugh:

Guess the bill of my hat wasn't flat enough and I didn't have enough sponsors on my jersey. Guess maybe then I could get a little respect. My brother snapped a pic of me at the ramp while rigs just drove past us:

NO RESPECT!

So Hunter do you remember the one legged guy (well he did have an artificial one) that you helped back down the ramp? I don't think he ever got the rig straight. Thank goodness he was the only one backing at the time.

I helped him in his boat - he was interesting to talk to for the few minutes that he was there, he must have fished quite a bit as he had sponsor stickers all over his rig. He was telling me that the reason that he was early was to beat the crowd - he was successful.

Now Champ regarding those Rangers - I have read on a site not to be named - that while Rangers are deemed to be classy they tend to be sloooow and that all owners are required to wear their jerseys and ascot tie while operating the boat. :secret-laugh:

abkeenan - I think jolicious is right it is Razorback country...God knows why but it is....

Brett, you can't go hatin' on those people like that! Don't you know they were just reduced to blissful ignorance (spelled it right this time) by their excitement to be fishing in the big-bass derby and didn't know any better than to cut in line?

Those people come from far and wide to fish this derby and spend thousands upon thousands of dollars while they're here.

If you can't be nice and get along (i.e., let them just do whatever they want and take it with a smile), maybe you just need to stay home that weekend. (Read back up this thread --- that's the solution. LOL)

Champ - I think that this practice is all over the place - I live across the street from a nice no wake 350 acre lake - for kicks and giggles I went over to watch the ramp fun on Memorial Day around noon - I did not take my boat.....it was a hoot!!!

From the old guy literally sitting on the edge of the ramp bobber fishing to the kayaks that are getting in front of the guy backing down the ramp to the poor guy whose battery gave out on him and he and his daughter had to paddle their boat in.

I didn't think I could have so much fun just watching.

One of my favorite past times for the last 15 years. Go to a busy lake with a busy ramp on 4th of July wknd, take a lawn chair, set it up within sight of the ramp, plop your butt down with an ice chest next to ya, and enjoy the show. I know withhout a doubt it has to be something everyone should do atleast once a year.

I know there was a lot of rudeness but I must also say I saw a lot of good things as well. I saw a bunch of people obviously coming to fish a stretch of bank we were on only to turn away and leave us be. Actually fished this stretch of bank for over 3 hours saturday and sunday and not one person cut in. Nobody asked to either or I would have shared it as it was a 300 yard stretch or so and the lake was crowded.

I had a couple other specific spots I wanted to fish but there were people over 150-200 yards away. I asked from a distance if they cared if I fished that spot and both times the people had no problems with it. Fished my little spot and then got out of their way.

Had another spot I was going to fish but someone was on it so started to leave. They waved me in and said to go ahead and fish. We told them thanks but wanted to give them their room.

We saw (and helped out too) a LOT of people helping each other at the ramp getting boats in and out if someone was by themselves or needed help.

Maybe we got lucky but we saw very little bad behavior.

True. In fairness, I saw only good behavior except for one guy. Really got a kick out of the guy who cut in on me honestly. Im sure he was not a bad guy, just had a bad moment. Heck, he was fishing couldn't be all bad...

Would be nice if everyone was willing to observe a 50 yd buffer though. I don't mind fishing behind you if you want to pull around me. But pulling between me and the bank to fish the water I'm fishing? If I had wanted to go to the trout park, I would've.

People just seem to lose their heads when a shot at cash is on the line...

If this is the guy that I'm thinking of he would have been in a Z9. It wasn't his first rodeo either he had big bass two years ago in the OBBT.

Some might argue that is the best show in Branson.
