Im eating one smallmouth for every dumb comment..Give it up boys geez. Put a mask and a tank on and tell me you dont see 10 bass for every other fish in table rock. This type of crap is why i migrate to Bull shoals during the summer...HAM is probably with me on this one

I don't consider myself dumb, just my opinion!

Have fun on the Bull and you'll never catch any fish again that you remove from any lake.

Tight lines and cpr!

Not meaning to call any one dumb.....I just would love to take some die hard catch and release guys diving just so they would realize how many bass see their lures. and dont eat them...Just cuz they dont get caught doesnt mean they arent there....It really is amazing how many keeper bass there are in these lakes.granted i have plenty of crappie in the freezer and always release bass unless they are hooked bad....This topic is just nuts talking about deer compared to bass....You actualy have to out smart a bass. all you do with deer is hope the right one walks by you....I deer hunted one time, Shot one and am pretty much over it not much thought or challange. I understand harvesting big ones like Cody is into, it takes trail cams and figuring out their routine. If you have enough land i guess it changes things with the deer, but for the average hunter they pretty much shoot what walks by

As long as there are two people catching those fish one one of the fisherman is marking his by clipping a fin etc. they are still legal. Everyone has their favoritesand opinions on such, personally I hate to even think about filleting a smallmouth, but wouldn't think twice about eating a big flathead or walleye so I understand the sentiment. I certainly would hate to say catching a bass is outwitting it, that would mean if I didn't catch every one of them I got outsmarted by something with a brain the size a jolly rancher candy.

The pro keep arguement is always down the line of as long as its legal, i can live with that because its his right according to the law. I agree with Dave on the 1960's looking stringer and am gonna take it one step further. I DON'T CARE HOW MANY IT TOOK TO CATCH THAT STRINGER OF FISH THE FACT IS THERE'S 9 ON THERE AND CREEL LIMIT IS 6!!!!! MDC puts out a guidelines and regulations manual every year I just wish more people would read it. Rick your friend is lucky he didn't get nailed for exceeding his daily creel limit because even if he didn't catch all 9 hes in possession of them.

Really? Wow!!

So following you logic a game warden needs to be at the next pro/am tourney and start handing out tickets all around. I mean by using your way of thinking if both anglers have caught their 5 fish tourney limit the guy who owns the boat should be ticketed for possessing the fish in his boat?

Hands down, the most ignorant comment made yet in this Frankenthread. Speaks volumes for the catch-and-kill crowd.

or maybe he made that comment in jest just to troll the folks who get their panties in a wad when somebody eats one of their precious bass? The next time somebody gets a bad vibe from a rude tourney angler, does that mean that it speaks volume for the ENTIRE tourney crowd? Obviously, that is not the type of angler that you are. If I used the same logic as you did for the post you quoted, I would just assume that all tournament anglers are like that based on the actions of one person.

You beat me to it Seth. Perfect example also, I have met some real jerks who were tournament fishing, and some of the nicest guys on earth.

As with most things in life, it is not attractive to be a hard-butt extremist on either side of an issue. But if that is where your heart and values place you, what else can you do? I must confess my sin. I eat an occasional bass and they are tasty. I also have released thousands of 15"ers and giants over 50+ years fishing Table Rock. No guilty conscience here. Got to say though that there appears to be a more than healthy population of bass right now in TR (maybe not size wise), and, yes, would like for the lake to continue to thrive and improve. Thanks to all who show concern for the lakes well-being, which ever side of this discussion they are on.

Good fishing!
