fishinwrench Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Drugs. Can't live with 'em. Can't live without 'em. Now what? You're late! We ain't even talking about that anymore, we're talking about picturesque shut-ins. Get up to speed, man.
Gavin Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Been to Amidon many times. The scenery is fantastic but it's a popular spot in the summer. Fishing stinks, but the ladies like it there.

jdmidwest Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 So we all agree, giving more access to the outdoors brings all of the lazy ones out to abuse it? ollie 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
MOPanfisher Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 As a side effect yes. But it also allows the guy who used to be outdoors all the time but grew old to access it, or the young family to introduce their kids to nature there as well, or maybe the guy/gal who lost their legs in combat to experience it as well.
Al Agnew Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 As a side effect yes. But it also allows the guy who used to be outdoors all the time but grew old to access it, or the young family to introduce their kids to nature there as well, or maybe the guy/gal who lost their legs in combat to experience it as well. And THAT'S why I'm all for all the law enforcement possible on these places. The old people and families shouldn't have to worry that they are going to encounter a bunch of drunken abusive pinheads when they go somewhere like this. It's easy for people like me to avoid that stuff because I can still get off the beaten track and I can go any day of the week. But not everybody is that fortunate. I love having places that are hard to get to and worth the effort, but if you're going to make access easy, then police it and keep it open and safe for everybody except the drunken, drug-addled idiots. rFisherk and Smalliebigs 2
Mark Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 As a former Chief Deputy who patrolled parks, lakes and rivers in Southern Missouri, I can tell you that the ones smoking dope, getting drunk and fighting are the same ones violating the game laws, littering, breaking glass on the rocks, spraying graffiti, etc. We covered 755 Square Miles with six deputies and two water patrol officers (now troopers) and two game wardens. Considering we had two lakes, and two major rivers, corps parks and campgrounds, along with other assorted crimes, any enforcement action you can take ultimately makes our natural resource areas safer and more enjoyable for everyone. We sure did not do it for the money..... So everyone who smokes pot also fights, poaches, litters, breaks glass on rocks, and sprays graffiti? Good to know law enforcement doesn't stereotype people.
fishinwrench Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 There ya have it. So if your weed connection ever runs dry just find you some broken glass, litter, or fresh graffiti....and there will be some sticky buds close by.
jdmidwest Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I have seen a lot of poaching in my lifetime, but never made a connection to drugs from it. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
