Terrierman Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I LOVE Dogs and I LOVE fishing. I have no desire to mix the two. Russells don't make good boat dogs as a rule. My old dog Bucky was an exception, he loved to go and was very well behaved on the water. Ham 1
Lancer09 Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Mine loves swimming so he is tough to wade with + he thinks he is bigger and tougher than everything.. He has small dog syndrome. Can't cast a fly near him because he wants to chase it. Doesn't really care about the fish when you have it in hand but throwing it back, or fighting it he will go in after it if he gets a chance. cheesemaster 1
ollie Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Like Ham said, "I love dogs and I love fishing", but I can't seem to have them both at the same time. We had a lab once that was supposed to belong to someone else but we got forced into taking him in basically. Took him wade fishing once and it was all I could do from killing that dog! lol He was more of a pain in the butt than an enjoyment. lol Ham 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

Flysmallie Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 That is awesome. I gotta show this to my girls. We have a wiener dog that is 14 years old. Â Â
Ham Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I'm totally fine with other ppl having their dogs with them and we've takn one of our current pack of dogs with us on a float trip. He was great, but I just dont think I want to be worried about a dog while I am trying to fish. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
