There are good and bad people in every profession. Bottom line is cops at all levels go out into an increasingly evil world every day and put their lives on the line to protect the rest of us. Nice or not, they all have to be vigilant to a degree that some civilians may see as extreme in order to give themselves the best chance to go home alive at the end of their shift. And that's far more important than whether we think they are nice or not.

That must be why you became a WRENCH.  You had a lot of bad clutches.    I'm 54 and can't tell my stories yet. My Mom is still alive. And Grandma (94).

Champ they are paid to do a job.  If they don't like the job they can quit.  No reason for them to be pricks from the get go.  I've been thru Bella Vista thousands of times,  They define Pricks.  JMO.

Ya know, I hear this alot about how their job is so dangerous... blah blah blah. Gimme a break!   While I don't intend to make light of what they do, take a moment and look at it this way....  LEO's are highly trained, have all the coolest weapons and toys, and have instant backup available at anytime they think they might need it.   I see being a cashier at a convenience store, or a truck driver, mailman, or a member of a road crew as being a hell of a lot more "dangerous" than being a cop.  But I never hear anyone crow about the daily risks to THEIR safety.

Hell, us lowly boat mechanic's walk a pretty sketchy line pretty often too.  I never know what kinda bomb I'm sticking my head into.  I could blow myself up easily tomorrow, and for what?  Just so some nimrod can get to his fishing hole faster.

Cry ME a friggin' river would ya ! :D

As everybody says not all cops are created equal.  As for immediate back up, not hardly, lots of places especially in small towns or rural counties backup may be an 30 minutes or more away on the other side of the county, and require them to wake up someone.  Calling in a MSHP for backup can also take a while, never know who the back up will be, sometimes its a Cons. Agent, sometimes MSHP, occasionally the only LE around is a State Park Ranger.  Small towns seem to either have a basically good cop, or a turd.  have seen both in my small town, from the ones who would stop and talk to the minors hanging around town to the ones who live to arrest them for minor violations.  Yeah their jobs are dangerous but that is what they signed up for, if they cannot handle it, there are other jobs.  I have always been a suppoorter of Law Enforcement but certainly don't support the actions of everyone who wears a badge.  Seems like if you claim to be a supporter of LE then those who don't like cops seem to think you are supporting cops who abuse their position, or shoot unarmed suspects (not always what it seems), everone wants to be polarized anymore no more common ground (or common sense sometimes either).  I certainly wish we lived in a society where cops were only needed when you called them, but that just isn't the world we have.

I personally couldn't care less what anyone thinks of me ... I'm going to support every officer who wears a badge until he gives me a reason why I shouldn't. That doesn't mean I don't get frustrated when the water patrol is present at practically every tournament takeoff but nowhere in sight when the lake is crawling with drunks. That's on the agency, not the individual officers.

Hell to the Yes, bro.     I think we should also support every crackhead, coke dealer, buzzed driver, Smallie filleter, wake boat operator, and BIOLOGIST until they give us a valid reason why we shouldn't as well.  :)

It is 2016....Let's stop spreading the blankets of hate.   I'm onboard.

When I first read this I thought I should call the police because someone obviously hacked into FW's forum login credentials. lol  But then i took a breath and read what he is saying which is exhibit mutual respect until someone shows they don't deserve it.
