Champ188 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 No jerk bait falls 3 feet per second even if you cover every inch of it with SuspenDots. I doubt there's a spoon in the world that falls that fast. A good copy editor would've caught that. big c and Mitch f 2
abkeenan Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I thought that didn't make much sense. At one point in the article it said he would wait as much as 20 seconds between twitches......which is within normal range at times for jerkbait, but 3 feet per second?........uh that would mean it would be at 60 feet potentially? Then 120 feet if he did that consecutively?? 180 feet if he felt he needed to really slow down??? Must be fishing the dam area of the lake.....literally the dam. 176champion, dtrs5kprs, Chunk Rock and 3 others 6

Quillback Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 My guess is he meant to say 1-3 inches per second. I think just about every pro has a different take on the suspensions thing. I've heard from one guy or another that you want a slow fall, or have the bait suspend horizontally, or tail up, or head up. Mitch f and dtrs5kprs 2

I know others will argue the "tail down vs head down" deal but I don't think matters honestly. I want a bait that will either suspend perfectly or super slow sink. That just me though. *T*, Mitch f, Champ188 and 3 others 6
Guest Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Spintech trebles have helped me force the bait to suspend, slow rise & slow sink. a lotta folks don't like spintechs but they serve a purpose. I don't have to deal with suspend dots anymore. If you put a number 4 spintech on the belly of a RK crawler, it becomes a slow riser. Just sayin
buckcreekmike Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I read it as 1 foot every 3 seconds. dtrs5kprs 1

Members HardHead Posted February 5, 2016 Members Posted February 5, 2016 I had not been on Pete weeners site for a bit - visited yesterday and saw the tips from pros videos. Pretty awesome new feature he has on the site. Anyway, the second video is bill beck talking spoon fishing. Very detailed and informative. I'm having trouble trying to link the video but it's definitely worth checking out. Ham and Hunter53 2
