Amery Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I do the majority of my fishing at night due to having a job and children. With the white bass coming up I'm trying to figure out how to optimize my opportunities. I have an area I fish that gets a high concentration of em and has clear water most of the time. I'm wanting to try throwing clousers to them after dark this year. I am gonna tie some with glo thread. Does anyone have experience/advice on this? Has anyone else even tried it? jtram 1
vonreed Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I've never tried clousers after dark, but I'm sure others have got it figured out. But nighttime is the right time for white bass. They bite much better after dark from my experience and that is the time that I target them, usually using purple swimming minnows or some variant of similar bait. tho1mas 1
Amery Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Nice. I will definitely be giving it a whirl. Do you go with a slower retrieve at night?

Amery Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 My father is an authentic hillbilly from Winslow Arkansas. He goes to Walmart bare footed and the employees don't mess with him. I do my best to escape from that lifestyle but it sneaks out every so often. em=them in hillbilly. mixermarkb, trythisonemv and snagged in outlet 3 3
trythisonemv Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I have heard that night is good but never tried after dark. Usually right before dark is when I get into them. I'd say a purple clouser would work good.
fishinwrench Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I have tried it during the first couple hours of darkness but they definitely bit better before dark. Maybe it gets better after midnite? I once tried during a full moon in April. Caught them good during the day but totally blanked under the light of the moon even though I could hear and see them chasing each other around. I assume they were too busy making love to eat. It happens. trythisonemv and Amery 2
